Natalie's bad day turned worse....

The nurse shrugs. "Ok if you say so." She chuckles to herself. "Training pants and a training bra. What a combo."

There was a knock on the door and the nurse got up from her desk. She walked over to the door and opened it. "Hello, You must be Nattie's mommy." The nurse turned to Natalie. "Your mommy is here."

"Natalie what is going on with you today?! Yes I'm Linda I'm sorry Natalie has been a bother." Linda says being her 12 year old daughter sitting at a small table with a coloring book with a pacifier clipped to her babyish outfit. 

"Nurse can you update me on all this?"

The nurse smiles. "Natalie hasn't been a bother at all. She came in a little after lunch after having an accident in her underwear and getting her school uniform skirt wet. I cleaned her up and put what clothes I had available in the room. Since I don't have any underwear and she looked small enough. I went down to the storeroom in the kindergarten classes and got a pullup out that the teachers use for their students. At least the ones who are trying to potty train. I put them on her and gave her a pacifier to help her calm down. Then I brought her back here to wait on you to pick her up." She looks at Natalie and then back at Linda. "She said she is 12, but I don't see it. 12 year olds don't have accidents and can't fit into toddler pullups."

"Your right she may be 12 but I'm not seeing it anymore either. She's asking me for training brasbut I think we have to rethink Natalie's place and age. She's obviously not ready to be 12. Do you have any recommendations nurse on what to do? Or maybe you'd like to come over after school and help me." Linda says feeling this sudden way of thinking on Natalie. 

 

Natalie started to whine and suddenly felt funny.

"I agree. I don't think she is ready to be 12 or for a training bra. From what I seen while she has been in my office. I would say she acts like a 2 or 3 year old. kindergarteners who are in pullups or still in diapers act more mature than Natalie does. I would recommend getting rid of all her big girl underwear and replace them with pullups until she can stay dry. You already told me that you diaper her at night. If she can't stay dry during the day. You might think about moving her back an age group and keep her in diapers full time. If you do put her in pullups. I would have her come to my office a few times a day. So I can check and see if she needs a change. When or if you put her back in diapers full time. I would suggest removing her from her current grade and back to the beginning again. She is about the same size as a kindergartener. So she would fit in with them." The nurse goes to the closet and takes out a kindergarten school uniform. Which was a red and green plaid jumper, a white polo shirt and tan tights with ruffles on the back. "This is the school uniform she would be wearing if she was in kindergarten. Cute isn't it?"

"Oh yes I do definitely agree! Natalie will definitely be seeing you much more often from this point forward. Now come on Natalie say thank you to the nurse, we need to go shopping." Linda says taking Natalie's hand.

 

Natalie found her pacifier being put back in her mouth shyly as she was lead up from the table by her mom. "But mommy..."

The nurse smiled. "I'm glad. I am going to get to see Natalie more often. You can drop off her supplies tomorrow morning." She waved bye to Linda and Natalie. "Another successful conversion. Soon I will have another in diapers at the school." Natalie wasn't the first student she had put back in pullups and then in diapers and she wouldn't be the last. The nurse updated Natalie's file with student is back in pullups. She starts to tidy up the exam room when she heard the door to the office open. The nurse walked out of the exam room to see a boy and girl standing there. By the smell of it. Both were in need of a diaper change. "Who wants to go first?" The girl raised her hand and the nurse took her into the exam room to change her. When she was done. She changed the boy. Then sent them back to class. The nurse updated their files to record what condition their diapers were in.

Linda looked at Natalie. "Don't but me. You are the one who had an accident and had to be put in a pullup like you were a toddler. The only butts around is going to be yours in a pullup."

Natalie just nods as her mommy leads her out of the school past many other students headed to gym and music classes in the front of the school. Natalie sucks her pacifier nervously as they make their way to mommy's car. She feels funny but can't figure what the feeling is yet, she figures it was her embarrassment from the little kids commenting on her pullups showing under her skirt.

Mom opened the back door and put Natalie in her booster seat. She was still too short to be able to ride in a seat without a boost. Mom buckled her in and stood there looking at Natalie for a moment. Setting in a booster seat with a pullup under her skirt. Natalie didn't look like she was almost a teenager. She looked to be alot younger. Mom sighed and walked around to the driver side and got in.

Natalie now buckled into her booster seat looked at her mom with sad eyes but tucked her pacifier and it seemed to calm her more and more. Natalie watched out the window as her mommy drove them to target. She was usually glad to see target but today she knew it'd be an embarrassing trip. The odd feeling inside was still growing as her mommy parked the car.

Mom parked the car and got out. She went over to the cart rack and got one with a child seat built in. Mom took the cart over to the back door and opened it. She unbuckled Natalie and helped her out of the car. Mom removed the skirt from Natalie. "You don't need it anymore. You are not at school." She folded it up and laid it on the seat next to Natalie's booster seat. Mom picked Natalie up and put her in the child seat. She buckled her in and off to the store they went. The first stop was the baby care aisle. She stops in front of the training pants. "Do you want My Little Pony, Disney Princesses or Barbie?"

Natalie was so embarrassed that mommy took her skirt. Once she was buckled in her seat in the cart she tries to pull her shirt down to cover her pullup but it doesn't work well. She nurses her pacifier as mommy pushes her into the baby isle. 

When mommy asks her which pullups she wanted it seemed like a trick. She wanted to be a big girl, she was a big girl... but something came over her and she lisped out "disney" around her pacifier wiggling in her seat. She couldn't believe this was happening  but she was soon distracted seeing another mom walk into the isle with a girl no older than 4 also riding in the cart. The girl giggles as they walk by at such a big girl still having a pacifier with her pullups showing. Natalie started to cry.

Mom nods. "That is a good choice. Princess underwear for Mommy's little princess." Mom noticed the girl giggling and Natalie crying. She was about to say something when she sees the other mom stopping at the diapers and picking up two big boxes of Pampers Baby Dry size 7. Mom turns back around. "I don't know what she is giggling at. She isn't out of diapers yet. So that makes her more of a baby than you. Just ignore the rude little girl." She picks up some wipes, powder and a potty seat for the toilet in the bathroom. "Would you like to go pick out a toy?"

Natalie smiles and giggles a little at mommy pointing out that the little girl is in diapers. "Tank you mommy, yeah I want a toy!" Natalie says feeling more at ease as mommy made her laugh and knowing she's getting a new toy! She hoped mommy was going good to get her pokemon cards but notices mommy stopping the cart by the toddler toys. Natalie starts looking at all the shiny colors and happy animals on all the toys though and some how feels like these are right for her.

Mom stopped at the toddler toys. "Which one would you like?" She looked around. "I forgot how many toddler toys they made. Dolls, stuffed animals, characters from tv shows." Mom picked up a container of play food and a cash register. "I didn't know they still made those kind of toys." She stood there thinking back to when she was a little girl and would play with those kind of toys. A smile creeped on her face.

Without thinking Natalie points to what her mommy has held up and says "that that!" Like an excited toddler. With her big girl mind fully slipping for a moment her pullup grows warm and Natalie gasps a little behind her pacifier.

Linda nodded. "Good choice." She put the toy in the cart and heard a dripping sound and a gasp. Linda saw a wet spot on the floor and the design on the pullup faded. She knew what that meant. "Why didn't you tell me you needed to go potty?" Linda turned the cart around and headed to the back of the store where the family restroom was at. She opened the pack and took a pullup out, along with the wipes and powder. Linda lifted Natalie out of the seat and took her into the bathroom to clean her up. She sat Natalie on the child size potty. "Try and see if you need to go anymore before I change you into a dry pullup."

Natalie sits on the potty and whines out to mommy. "Mommy I'm sorry it was an accident I'll do better mommy!" Natalie says spitting out her pacifier.  She tried to go potty more but it was almost like she was forgetting how to.

Linda knelt down in front of Natalie. "I'm not upset with you. I know it was an accident, but this is your second one today. If you keep having accidents. Diapers will not just be for bedtime. It will be for daytime also. Are you finished trying to use the potty?"

"But I.... I don't need diapers. I'll be good mommy I promise. Yes I'm done on the potty now." Natalie says feeling a little of her big girl mind coming back as she's being wiped by mommy and having a new pullup put on her. This one feels a little thicker and makes her legs feel a little funny.

"I'm not so sure about that sweetie." Linda notices the pullup seems thicker as she pulled it up to Natalie's waist. "Well these seem thicker. Maybe they will not leak." She washes her hands and takes Natalie by the hand. They walk out of the family restroom and Linda puts Natalie back in the child seat. She picks up the package. " Nighttime Pullups for added overnight protection against leaks. "Well that makes sense why they were thicker,"

Natalie feels oddly thankful that these pullups are thicker but she feels funny walking with them a little but now happily back in her seat and mommy placing her pacifier back in her mouth Natalie's big girl thoughts slip back out of her head as mommy pushes her to the check out.

Mom stopped at the drink cooler and got an apple juice in character bottle and a water for herself. "You can have the apple juice after I pay for it." She pays for the items and then opens the top for Natalie. "Here you go sweetie." The cashier comments on how cute Natalie was.

"Awe what a cutie you have! Good luck with potty training that can be the worst!" The cashier says ringing up all the thick pullups and other supplies.

 

Natalie sucked her pacifier and once again with out much thinking says "yeah I'm working hard at going potty!" The 12 year old turns beat red realizing what she said and tries to hide her face.

The Cashier smiles. "I'm sure you are. You are trying to be a big girl like your mommy and use the potty. So you don't need diapers anymore like a baby." Linda nods. "I'm trying not to let her grow up too fast. Because one day she is in pullups and the next she is in 6th grade in a blink of an eye."
