Quiakim Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 "Was it good?" Lydia asked as she took a wet washcloth to clean up the boy. She then took off the bib and threw it in the wash.
Little Giammy Posted April 6, 2024 Author Posted April 6, 2024 "I'd say so," the nanny said with a very kind smile, helping Stephanie clear the table as Antony got up from the table and gave his mom his hand. "What do you think about taking Antony to brush his teeth?" she asked Lydia while helping Stephanie with the dishes.
Quiakim Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Lydia watched the nanny for a moment. "I guess that will be the new part in the morning routine." She then nodded and took Anthony upstairs, helping him to brush his teeth.
Little Giammy Posted April 6, 2024 Author Posted April 6, 2024 "Well, yes! It's essential for the child to brush his teeth after every meal," the nanny explained very kindly. "In fact, since many little boy tend to forget, it would be a good idea for you to make sure he brushes his teeth," the nanny suggested. "We don't want any nasty cavities, do we?" she said to the child, touching his nose before watching him climb the stairs with his mom.
Quiakim Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Once they were done brushing teeth, Lydia took her son downstairs. "Ready?" She asked, looking at the nanny and Stephanie.
Little Giammy Posted April 6, 2024 Author Posted April 6, 2024 "Well then! Since the child is ready, I suppose I can go brush my teeth," the nanny said, heading towards the bathroom. She returned about ten minutes later. "Okay, we can go," she said after grabbing her purse.
Quiakim Posted April 6, 2024 Posted April 6, 2024 Lydia found it was quite taking too much time, but she did not complain for now. She then got Anthony in the car, strapping him into his car seat and handing him his dummy.
Little Giammy Posted April 6, 2024 Author Posted April 6, 2024 "I'm sorry for having taken so long" the nanny said mortified "I didn't found my glasses and my weekly medicine container" the nanny said them sorry for the late "at my age I can't afford to forget them" she explained them.
Quiakim Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 "No worries. Please hop in so we don't loose any more time." Lydia said, trying to swallow down her annoyance. She started the engine and started driving to the zoo.
Little Giammy Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 The nanny quickly got into the car and spent the entire journey in silence. Despite the delay due to traffic, which surprisingly flowed smoothly, they managed to make up time and even arrived about twenty minutes ahead of the original schedule, which greatly relieved the nanny.
Quiakim Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 "Have you already spotted where we are going?" Stephanie asked as Lydia parked the car. She then got out and got Anthony out of the car and put him on his feet.
Little Giammy Posted April 17, 2024 Author Posted April 17, 2024 Antony, sucking on his pacifier, shook his head in disagreement as he was lifted from the backseat of the car. His eyes lit up with joy when he spotted the large zoo sign, and he let out a cheerful shout, bringing a smile to the elderly nanny's face. "Alright, let me present this to you once more," she said kindly, revealing the yellow leash meant for the children and showing it to Lydia and Stephanie.
Quiakim Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 Both Lydia and Stephanie smiled at the happy squeal from their boy, but that quickly turned in a light frown when Alexandra brought up the leash again. After a moment, she took the leash and kneeled before Anthony to show him. "Anthony, before we go in, you have to pick between something for mommy. Do you want to walk by yourself?" She asked, showing the bright yellow strip. "Or do you want to walk holding mom's or mama's hands?" She offered.
Little Giammy Posted April 18, 2024 Author Posted April 18, 2024 "Alright!" the nanny said as they walked towards the ticket booth. "But this place is much more crowded than that playground, which makes everything very different," she pointed out. "Losing sight of a child in a place like this is much easier." However, she decided that if the response had been negative, she wouldn't insist. She knew well that children like Antony, despite all the promises they could make, were entirely unpredictable. She knew that some things could only be learned through experience, and this was one of them. So, she would limit herself to acting as a "safety net" in case there were any unforeseen events. "I want to walk by myself," the child said to his mom. "Okay, little one," the nanny said sweetly to the child, giving him a pat and following the small family towards the zoo gate.
Quiakim Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 Lydia nodded and put the leash on the boy. "There, now you can walk." She told the boy and waited for Stephanie to have paid for the tickets. "Let's go."
Little Giammy Posted April 18, 2024 Author Posted April 18, 2024 Despite pouting, the child allowed his mom to put on the harness. Meanwhile, nanny and Lydia were already beyond the gate. Then, the child took his wallet from his purse and pulled out a 5 Tye banknote to give to Stephanie for her ticket. It would have been really embarrassing for her to have one of her clients pay for her ticket.
