Benjamin Maverick was an accomplished 22 year old a computer genius and investor being able to manipulate the market he was able to make millions and was able to not only get out of this poverty stricken life, he had everything he wanted a nice house in a private area, a nice car, everything. But there was one thing he never really could get a childhood Benjamin had to grow up fast, being the smallest at an orphanage and always being picked on for being sensitive and a sissy as some people said he had to grow up fast and be seen as an adult, but at cost of him losing his childhood. Now as an adult albeit being a very short and young looking adult he finally had control over his life only problem is he felt like he missed his childhood.

Benjamin racked his brain on how to rectify that then the idea came to him, it was silly and dumb idea the more he thought on it the more he realized it could work. He was small enough and young looking enough that he could pull it off, so after a bit of time and searching on the internet he finally came up with a plan. First he started ordering all the proper furniture and clothes he needed, then he turned one of the guestrooms to resemble a child bedroom and then came the hardest part finding a babysitter. He wanted to find someone beautiful caring but not afraid to put her foot down and take on a disciplinary role.

Liz felt immediately out of place as her early 2000s Civic puttered into a neighborhood it had no business being in. Fortunately she'd relayed her info to the Maverick's and they must have made sure to pass it along to the guard at the gate and she was let in. Liz drove slowly along the development, huge houses lined the road and were surrounded by hedges and high fences. It was an upscale development even for the section of town she was in.

The job had come at a really opportune time for her, her roommate had accidentally stepped on her laptop coming to bed one night and now she needed a new one prior to finals week or she'd be writing all of her papers in the library. Fortunately, the offer that came in was for not just a weekend watching a single kid, but an all expenses paid weekend in a nicer house than she could ever afford with several hundreds of dollars for her trouble. Being a babysitter at 20 wasn't as lucrative or steady as some of her other friends jobs but it did let her set her schedule better for college. She had a few lucrative clients who might have known the Maverick's but with jobs like these, and she was told that if things went well there were always more opportunities, she might have landed a whale that could let her work a limited schedule and live with more than enough to get by.

Liz pulled her car into the large, mutli car driveway and parked it before gathering up her toiletries and clothes bag. She'd been assured everything she would need was inside and if she needed anything during the weekend that she could use the debit card or instacart password and charge it to them. Liz made her way to the door and gave it a knock, ready to get her weekend going.

Benjamin was absolutely nervous he was in the master bedroom looking at himself in the mirror making sure his disguise was perfect, he looked absolutely adorable and practically unrecognizable from any other kid. Thanks to his small size and very young looks he could pass as a kid but what field the deal was his clothes a dinosaur T-shirt with green shorts.

"You got this Benjamin, you run over this plan a million times you set everything up and you look the part." Benjamin said to himself in the mirror before leaving the master bedroom and locking the door, he also double-checked to make sure his office was also locked. He then went to the guest room that he had converted into a child's room, it looked absolutely perfect to the toy chest, the bed, the bookcase even the glow-in-the-dark stickers that were on the ceiling were perfect. 

Benjamin then looked at the Care Bears clock that was on the drawers in his guest room, it was almost time for his babysitter to arrive. Benjamin had found Liz on a babysitting website, the reviews for her were spectacular parents giving her glowing recommendations and her qualifications were impressive too. Plus he looked young enough that she might be able to be fooled by this charade, Benjamin still felt guilty about all this he wasn't actually hurting anybody but he wasn't a child he was just very short and could pass for one.

He had got on the computer and emailed Liz coming up with a cover story and taking a few pictures of himself dressed up as a child to help seal the deal, he pretended to be a father who's going away on the business trip and needed someone to watch his son for the weekend, the pay was good and any expenses would be covered. Soon the doorbell rang, Benjamin yelped like someone had just shot him, he then turned around took a few deep breaths and walked downstairs and open the door, "H-Hello." Benjamin said nervously.

"Hey there buddy, you must be Ben. I'm Liz, I'll be taking care of you this weekend." Lizzy walked in, closing the door behind her locking it for the night. The boy looked no older than about ten. He had a bit of a babyface through he may not have hit a growth spurt yet or alternately could be a little younger but just tall for his age. She'd asked his dad a lot, including Ben's age, but couldn't remember if she ever got a good answer. "So, have you already had dinner yet or does someone feel like ordering some pizza tonight?"

Benjamin was a bundled nerves when he looked up at his babysitter for the weekend, she was more beautiful in person and definitely gave off an air of maturity and responsibility, it made Benjamin feel even more like a little boy in her presence. When she asked if he had dinner Benjamin shock his head no and then yes when Liz offered order a pizza dinner. Benjamin nervously stuttered out, "l-let me show you around the p-p-place miss Liz."

"Sure thing kiddo. You show me around and then we can go over some rules and expectations and once we've got all that done, we can get that pizza ordered."

Benjamin nodded his head yes and started showing his babysitter around the house, in his head he was going over what he described himself or described his child self in the email to Liz, that he or kid Benjamin was a sweet and very caring kid nervous can be good and maybe mischievous, Benjamin remembered writing almost a thousand drafts and deleting them before writing them again out of sheer nervousness trying to pretend that he was a father talking about his son until finally settling on something although it was a bit vague.

Benjamin showed his babysitter around the house starting with the living room it had nice couches and an armchair then the kitchen which looked like something from a five-star restaurant, the dining room then the laundry room and bathroom that was in it. Benjamin took Liz upstairs and stopped at his office, "this is my off." Benjamin stopped himself from saying his office before clearing his throat and saying, "This is my daddy's office no one's allowed in it but him so it's locked." Benjamin then showed Liz the guest room and his daddy bedroom or to be more precise his old room, then the upstairs bathroom and then finally they went into Benjamin's new bedroom. "And um this is m-my room miss Liz."

Benjamin said with a blush the bedroom looked like any little kids room, it had bookcases a desk, a toy chest, soft carpet and a nice bed. but one thing that was surprising was that on the nightstand was a Care Bears alarm clock.

Liz followed after Ben, making mental notes about which rooms were which. Locking the office off entirely felt a little weird that it would be locked completely from the outside. Maybe the kids dad was paranoid about stuff? Regardless, not her place to judge how he lived his life.

"Oh wow, what a cool bedroom. You have a lot of fun things it looks like. Maybe you can show me some of what you like to do while we wait for the food to come in?" Liz walked around, making herself as authoritatively at ease as she would be in any ten year olds bedroom. Her eyes spied the clock, "Oh look, Care Bears? Aww, that's so cute. An oldie but a goodie, huh?" She smile down at the boy.

"Alright big guy, just a few rules before we get settled in. Nothing major, I'm sure we'll get along just fine. Just follow what you normally do with your daddy but I am going to insist on a few things. I want you in bed by nine. I checked with your dad on this one so we're just going to be following that schedule since he didn't say anything about any later on the weekends. I'd also like to make sure you brush morning and before you go to bed. Other than that, keep things picked up after yourself and I think we'll have a fun weekend! I'm going to go get all set up down in the living room real quick and place that pizza order. You just start thinking on what you want to do while we wait."

Benjamin blushed when was Liz made a comment about the Care Bears clock, but he said with a smile. "Thank you yes I like the original Care Bears cartoon I have it on DVD I liked the show back at the ofr." Benjamin caught himself before he finished the word orphanage, he then cleared his throat he said, "I liked it since I was a really little kid." Benjamin nodded at the rules he remembered making them as basic as possible in his email, like going to bed 9, keeping his room cleaned, basic kids stuff. Other rules he just left Liz to figure out.

When Liz left his room to order pizza, the little man had to take a few deep breaths to calm himself as he was nervous, he couldn't believe that it was going well so far and Liz didn't suspect a thing. Again he did feel a ping of guilt in tricking her, but at the same time he reasoned that he wasn't hurting her plus he'd make sure to give her a good tip or to be more precise he'd make sure his quote unquote dad would give her a good tip.

He then wondered what he and Lizzie would do maybe go into the game room to play some video games maybe play a lot of the new board games he bought for this occasion from Candyland to Shoots and Ladders, games used to enjoy playing back at the orphanage all those years ago.

Liz made herself at home, setting up some basic stuff in one of the guest rooms. She packed light of course, it was just a few days so anything more than a couple changes of clothes, toiletries, and some basic make up in case they went out wasn't needed. Still, had to have her phone and computer and she made sure each was plugged in and charging before opening the laptop up and placing the pizza order for tonight, she was going to keep it pretty basic. She realized she hadn't asked Ben about his preferences but most ten year olds aren't very adventurous, so she just placed an order for two larges, one pepperoni and the other cheese, and if Ben wanted anything fancier, there was always next time.

The guest room was functionally cozy. Maybe a bit smaller than Ben's but, it was a guest room so that made sense. White walls with a queen size bed, some unoffensive nature paintings on the wall, a dresser and arm chair in the corner. Combined with the private bath it was sort of like her own private little hotel room.

With 40 minutes to wait until the pizza showed up, Liz walked on back to Ben's room, knocking gently twice on the door as she was coming in. "Hey, pizza should be here in a bit over a half hour. Anything you want to play with until it gets here?"

Benjamin was going through his toy chest looking all the toys from dinosaur toys, some Star Wars toys and a few She-Ra toys. Benjamin blushed a bit when he held them he always liked She-ra a bit more then He-Man which got him a mocked a bit at the orphanage one of the many things that separated him from all the other boys. When Liz came into his room Benjamin jumped a bit and hid the She-Ra toys out of a force of habit he thought he had gotten rid of.

"Oh you like She-ra, huh? I do too, that Netflix show is pretty cool huh?" Liz noticed him flinch away when he picked up the toys. She didn't want Ben to feel embarrassed or self conscious about liking "girl toys". "Just relax, there's no such thing as a boy toy or a girl toy. There are just fun toys. Do you want to play She-ra while we wait?"

Benjamin don't embarrassed it wasn't just the memories of his time in the orphanage being made fun of for liking girl toys, it was also the fact that he was an adult man playing with girl toys. Even though his babysitter didn't know the truth. But he started to relax a bit when she talked casually to him even telling him it was okay for him liking She-Ra and didn't make fun of him for playing with girl toys reminding him that they're just fun toys even offering to play with him.

Benjamin could not help but blush a little bit, but he gave a shy smile and nodded his head as he slowly took out the Vintage She-Ra toys and said, "I haven't really seen the Netflix show I just know the original show. He even took out a few vintage toys from a few lesser known cartoons like the animated show called cops.

Liz let Ben lead when it came to toys. For all his interest in them, he didn't jump right into play like most kids would. Maybe it was just some lingering insecurity about 'girl toys' or just being an only child and not really having a lot of experience playing with other people his age. Still, she thought, better to let him lead for now and get comfortable. She could see apprehension leave his face after she comforted him over the She-Ra toys. She acknowledged and made little comments about each new one he took from the toy box.

"Oh, did you want to maybe watch it over the weekend? We can start when the pizza arrives?"

Benjamin apprehension and nervousness slowly so disappearing as he took out the different vintage toys even answering some questions about them, talking about them and the show they're from like cops being a futuristic law enforcement cartoon, Heathcliff and the Gang from a cartoon called Heathcliff a talking cat, he even had a few Gem and the hologram dolls which again he blushed about only for the Liz to gently smile. 

She even offered watching the new She-Ra cartoon Benjamin was hesitant as he didn't really hear a lot of good things about it but nodded his head, honestly there were a lot of cartoons he wanted to watch he just never could do to work. Honestly that was a lie he worked from home and he definitely had time it's just ever since he went to college he tried to be as grown up as possible even when finally making his fortune he still tried to be seen as grown up in his little garden community. Even when he was alone at home, but now that he was not adult Benjamin and just Ben he could indulge.

"You like a lot of old stuff, huh buddy? So do you watch a lot of old cartoons with your dad? It was weird, so many of Ben's toy's skewed "old". Even a little older than her if 80s throwbacks like Jem and She-Ra were there. "So which of these is your favorite character then?" She asked, trying to start building that relationship with him. She knew how kids could go on and on and really open up once the conversation shifted to something they really liked.

Just then she got a buzz on her phone letting her know the delivery driver would be arriving shortly. "Alright buddy, we can play for a few more minutes but food's almost here so once it shows up you need to run along and wash those hands like we promised. We don't want all your cool toys getting yucky do we?"

Benjamin nodded head saying that his dad had all the DVDs of classic children's cartoons that he and Ben would watch together, truth be told Benjamin was only 22 years old and the reason why he liked old cartoon so much was back at the orphanage the caretakers had a few channels and DVDs that specifically played older stuff which Ben had liked. One of the few good memories he had when he was a child at the orphanage. 

When Liz asked about which of the character he liked he admitted She-ra and Jam was his particular favorites as they were Brave and cool and determined and they didn't let setbacks stop them, he also thought because they also were motherly, but he dare not say that thought out loud. When he was told to wash his hands he got up and went to the bathroom and started washing his hands he even splashing some cold water on his face to help calm him down he bit still a bit embarrassed and a little nervous.

Liz greeted the delivery driver at the door and made sure to throw in a little extra of a tip in addition to what was already automatically applied through the app. After a quick hand off, she turned back into the house and locked the doors for the evening.

"Ben!" She called upstairs to her charge, "come on buddy, it's dinner time!" Liz brought the pizza into the kitchen and put the boxes on the table while searching for plates.

"Odd..." she thought. She couldn't really explain it but it felt odd that all of the cups, dishes, and silverware were all adult sized. That wouldn't be weird in a vacuum but she remembered when she was a girl it wasn't until she was about Ben's age that her mom first let her use unlidded cups in the house. Still, Ben's dad did seem like he expected his son to be very mature. Ben had a way about him that was different from other kids. Maybe just being an only child raised by a dad who gave him a pop culture diet of 80s nostalgia played a role. Just tough to form bonds with other kids when you're watching Care Bears and they're watching YouTubers.

"Hey there bud," she said as she heard him coming down the stairs and toward the kitchen, his presence interrupting her idle thoughts. "So, does you dad let you eat in the living room or do we have to eat at the dining room table?"

After washing his hands Benjamin came downstairs and saw the pizza, he felt his mouth watering his tummy grumbling when asked about where his quote dad liked him to eat Ben said the dining room. Ben always like to clean house he wasn't a neat freak but he enjoyed the sense of organization and cleanliness so we always prefer to eat in his dining room plus it was a nice dining room with a mahogany table with a medieval style to it, even the chairs had a medieval style to them.

"Alight, show me where we're going then." Liz followed along with both of their plates into a very formal dining area. "Oh wow, so you eat in here most nights?" She was impressed and a little aback. The formality of it all was imposing and definitely a far cry from eating on the couch in front of the TV like most of kids she watched wanted. Still, if this is what his dad wanted this is what they would do.

She sat down his food and then set hers across from him. "Do you need silverware or anything? Any drinks?' She asked prior to sitting down herself.

Benjamin took a quick peek and saw that his babysitter was marveling at the medieval looking dining room table and chairs, he never really had guest over if at all but when he did he always enjoyed the expression they gave when seeing his dining room. asked about drinks he's said that there is ginger ale and milk in the fridge and tea next to a tea kettle.

Benjamin also said he didn't need silverware as he went over and pulled the first big chair out for his sitter, although it did take a little effort it was pretty big chair with all types of medieval carvings, then he then did the same to his own chair and sat on the phone book he used to give himself a slight boost as the table was pretty big for someone of Ben's size.

"Why thank you, what a little gentlemen I see I'm staying with this weekend," Liz smiled as she took her seat after returning with drinks for the two of them. The two started eating together, quietly at first until Liz decided to try and build some rapport with Ben. "So, you're ten huh? Are you in fifth grade or is that next year? What's your favorite subject?" She started in with some questions about school because even if they weren't positive, kids tended to have strongly held opinions about school and she could probably use that get Ben to open up a bit more.

Benjamin ate his food quietly, but smiled he had take out before but having it be ordered for him by someone who cared just made his heart pitter patter a bit, although he did feel awkward not knowing what to say. Thankfully Liz asked him how was school, Benjamin had to think for a bit it had been years since he went to school but he started to open up about it, "school's okay I like reading and history, but I also really love computer science. Ben had to think did 10 year olds have computer science? He did when he was a kid but that was only because he was very gifted as a kid, but quickly he added, "my teacher says I'm really gifted."

"Oh yeah, those were my favorites too." Liz replied as she watched Ben eat. Gifted certainly made sense given her interactions with him so far. He seemed pretty advanced for a ten year old. As they both finished up, Liz grabbed his plate to take it to the dining room. "Here you go, unless you aren't done I can take care of these and then I can come and find you and see what you might want to do before bed."

After dinner Ben got up and offered to help with the dishes only for Liz to smile and rub his head, saying it was her job he nodded. And told his babysitter that he would be in the game room before quickly telling her where it was remembering he hadn't shown it to her. 

After walking past the living room and right from the laundry room he went to a wooden door and stepped into the game and TV room. The game room was the biggest room in the house next to his real bedroom and the second floor bathroom. The game room had a huge flat screen TV, the latest game system, a big leather couch a pool table a card table, a dart board and even a bar although Ben didn't drink, the bar came with the house. And through a glass door led to the backyard where the hot tub was.
