Jacqueline worked at a very big IT company, but she was not making as much as you'd think from such a company because really, her job was very expendable.  The company could find just about anyone off the street that knew how to clean up around the office, and that's what she did.  She was a janitor.

No one realized how dangerous this pandemic was that was spreading nearly two months previous.  They heard a lot of people died in China, a country so far away that they couldn't be bothered by it.  They heard their president say that it is unlikely to come to America and affect anyone there.  Then, things started to shut down suddenly.

The news was all over the place telling the country how the president should have known about the pandemic as early as six months before and how he was irresponsible in keeping the business as usual stance up until just a month or so ago.

Then....

Everything started shutting down at once.  It was hard to find stuff you needed at the store.  It was hard to find the banks open when you worked strange shifts, and it got so bad, with trying to keep her kids fed, that she missed her last rent payment, and they threw her family out.

Luckily, she found a motel that was taking customers, but then, she found out she was the last one accepted.

Then, one morning, because the schools had already shut down, and she was one of a few called in to work, she got her kids ready for daycare.  Daycare had been shut down!

Now what?

She had nothing else she could do but take them with her to work, and that was the last straw.

Her boss caught her as she was just coming in at 12:00 to work as she was told, and he frowned at her two kids, the elder of who started to have a fit of coughs.

"Are you crazy?  Are you trying to make everyone here sick?"

"She's not sick," Jackie told him.  "She's just...."

"Shut up.  You were told why you have been reduced in hours, and still, you bring people that are unauthorized.  I will not stand for an employee bluntly breaking the rules where safety is concerned.  You are fired!"

Jacqueline frown and shivered.  She knew that she had to pay the motel, but now she was fired, she wondered how she was going to do that.  If they were going to end up on the streets anyway, one night in the motel could mean up to three less meals for her girls.

She started out of the building with her head low, thinking about letting the motel room go.  What was worse, they had come by bus because she already had no car....

Graham Woods was a IT systems admin for a pretty large Information Technology firm and was just on his way out when he heard the predicament and was on his way out anyways and went up to the woman once he was outside of the building and introduced himself:
"Hello there, I'm Graham, Graham woods, I work for the company that you just went into and I couldn't help but overhear what happened to you and your two beautiful girls. I was leaving for the day anyways because I was given a half-day today and I was wondering, could I offer you a ride to wherever you were going? It's a long walk to wherever you might be heading and I wanted to make sure that the three of you were safe and okay." He told them as he hoped he wasn't coming off as a scary person.

Jackie shook her head.

"We don't have any place we are headed to," she said.  "I'm going to have to let the motel room go so I have extra food for my girls for an extra day or two.  What we have, and this one last paycheck is all we'll have to live on for a while."

She sighed.

She didn't see any problem telling him.  He seemed a bit nice and honestly concerned about them.  "You could maybe tell us if you know of a place that might need a housemaid or something for whatever they will pay.  I don't even care if it is only five dollars for three hours of work.  Any little bit will help my daughters be fed."

Just then, Adrianna started to cough again.

Jackie pulled her daughter to her and rubbed her back as she coughed until she finally finished about two minutes later.

"I do have my house and it would be nice to have someone taking care of my house while I'm at work. You three can come and stay with me for as long as you need to and I'll help taking care of the girls as well as help you out with bills and stuff if you're okay with that. I really don't mind, my car is just over there." He said pointing to the Nissan sedan parked not too far away from where they were standing and when he saw the young girl coughing, he finally just led the three to the car and let them get into the car and then just would drive them to his house, which was a couple of hours away from the house, he did feel bad for them, he really did. After all, this whole virus thing was keeping everyone on edge and tempers were bound to run higher than normal, before everyone returned to reasonable status.

Jackie nodded.

"I... well... Thank you, sir."

If it had been just her, she would have thanked him and left because it was too much to do for someone you just met, but her daughters needed a safe place to live.  Especially with her elder daughters' problems, she was afraid she would get the virus.  The doctors told her not to put a mask on her eldest, and that was another reason the boss had been angry with her.  He was sure the elder one must have the virus with the fits of coughing she was doing, and it was so bad when he saw it, she couldn't cover her mouth properly as the coughing wracked her whole body and shook even her hand away from her mouth.

If she had had to pee at that moment, as happened a lot to her, she would have ended up peeing her pants from coughing, but lucky for her, that was one problem that neither that cruel boss nor this stranger saw.

Ashley looked up at the man and made grabby hands to be picked up to be carried to the car.  She was very trusting even for an eight year old.  As long as her mom didn't tell her not to trust someone, she trusted them almost immediately.

Jackie got Adrianna into the car and buckled her in, and then if he was carrying Ashley, she took Ashley from his arms and put her into the car and buckled her in, too.

She then looked up at him.

"Do you want me to sit in the back?" she asked him.

Graham picked the little girl up and brought her to the car and let her mother take her from him and put her in the car and do the same thing she had done with her eldest daughter. He then heard her asking about sitting in the back and shook his head "Why don't you come and sit up front with me, I don't mind if you do, besides, it would be better this way anyways, that way the girls are able to ride in the backseat and not be cramped back there." He told her as he invited her up to the front seat and then got into the drivers seat of the car and buckled in before starting up the car and waited for the woman to get into the car and close the door and then would start the drive back to his own house.

Jackie nodded.

"My daughter doesn't have the virus.  I had her checked just last week, and she's had this cough like she has since long before the virus.  You see, the doctor last week told me that a mask could be dangerous for her because when she gets in a fit of coughs, it is hard for her to breath as it is.  The mask will make it worse."

She got in the front.

"It's not asthma or anything like that, that is causing it, either.  To be honest, the doctors don't know what is causing it, but she has a hernia that might be a part of the problem.  There are several kinds of hernias, and apparently, hers is growing upward causing her lungs to get cramped as well as growing down cramping her bladder."

She sighed.

"I never knew it was possible until I had her, but you can be born with a hernia."

She looked over at him.

"The doctor says that her surrounding stomach muscle tissue is very weak which means it doesn't hold her bowels in the right place very well.  They have done some surgery on her and fixed the problem enough to make it non-life threatening, but she still needs to see a specialist once a year to make sure the bowels haven't found a new way out of their box."

"I'm sorry that happened to your daughter, I  wish I could've been able to do something to help keep this under control for much longer and maybe help her to get better even sooner, but I am not her father or a part of your family, so I can't tell you what to do regarding how you raise your kids. I wouldn't even think about doing it as an outsider anyways." He said as he continued the drive to his house and then as soon as they got there, which was a couple of hours later, he would get out of the car and wait for the others to get out and then follow him into the house and he would show them where the bedrooms were and let the woman choose which bedroom her daughters were gonna share as well as the bedroom that she was going to sleep in.Only 2 of the bedrooms had bathrooms in the house, the ones that the girls would choose and the one in his bedroom and nowhere else in the house was there a bathroom.

"Well, even if you were there when she was born, there was nothing you could have done," Jackie told him feeling the cool air in the car.  "The problem is genetic, kind of...," and she blushed.  "I have a similar problem, but it's not as bad with the breathing."

She looked over at him.

"Are you sure it's okay that we are staying with you?  You probably should know, both my girls wets the bed.  Ashley just hasn't grown out of it yet, and Adrianna, it is because of when the attacks grab her at night, and she tries to wake up to use the toilet, but starts coughing, she can't help herself and she starts peeing or even shitting right then."

She looked down.

"I don't cough that much, and I don't have any night time issues, however, I do need a toilet accessible when I have to go... or I can have problems making it completely."

She started to get tears in her eyes.

"I don't like telling you any of this, but you need to know if we are going to be at your house for long.  You need to understand, I'll never spank my girls for wetting their pants in the day time because especially Adrianna just can't help it."

"I understand. It still makes me feel bad regardless for your daughter Ashley." He told her as he heard asking if he was sure it was okay that they be staying with him and explaining some of Ashley's medical conditions, as well as her own. This made him more convinced that this was the right thing to do for this woman and her children, especially if they are in this bad of a situation, he couldn't just drop them off somewhere to fend for themselves, it would be wrong and cruel of him to do, but what most people would do, given the circumstance and what they had been told from the woman.

"I am sure it's okay that you three stay with me, I wouldn't have offered you a place to stay, especially without asking for compensation in some way. I am doing this out of the kindness of my heart. I understand that you would never punish them for something that they cannot help and I would never expect you to or want you to if you did spank your kids for things that you knew that they could not control on their own. Wetting in the nighttime when the kids or you cannot help it or even know that you are doing it, is not something that I would ever get mad at you or your kids for that, in fact, I would probably help you out, by giving them a bath and helping to clean them up when they wet or mess in their pants because they weren't able to make it to the toilet without an accident. As long as they can try their best to make it to the bathroom and or that they can't control it, I wouldn't dare think of harming kids or punishing them for that, because accidents happen and I would feel the same way they would feel if I was in their shoes and getting punished for something that I wasn't able to control on my own." 

He told Jacqueline as he continued to drive to the house, until they finally reached it and he let them get out and see the house that they were gonna be staying at, while he went to get his work bag and other stuff that he needed when he would go into work.

(Sorry, I think I made Adrianna the older one with the medical problems.  Ashley just hasn't fully stopped wetting the bed yet).

Jackie smiled.

"I'm not sure how I feel about you helping with the girls, yet," she said.  "You are still a stranger to them, and I've told them never to trust a stranger, so while I appreciate the help, I think we should take it slow and wait for them to get used to you before expecting them to go along with you bathing them or helping them change their pants.  Especially Adrianna is embarrassed enough that I insist on helping her because the doctor told me to."

She smiled at him.

"At night, after a bath, I have to check on her in just her panties to make sure her hernia isn't getting worse.  You will probably see when I check her since it's your house and I want her to feel comfortable being check at her own place where she sleeps."

Jackie followed him into the house after he got his work bag and the two kids followed behind them.

Once they were inside and looking at the bedrooms, Jackie decided that the girls needed the room with the bathroom to give Adrianna a chance to get to the bathroom in the night... if she could wake up in time with her breathing problem the way it was.

"I'll let the girls have the room with the bathroom," she told him.  "Adrianna needs to get to the bathroom as soon as she wakes up in the night if she is not suffering from the breathing problem or she'll wet herself.  Ashley will wet herself either way, but she'll want a shower the next morning before she does anything else."

"I understand, it will definitely take it as slow as you would like me to, after all, they are your kids, so I agree with you that they wouldn't feel comfortable with strangers, especially doing things for them that you yourself would normally do when that kind of stuff would happen with them. I wouldn't expect you to trust me right away anyways." He said as he let her go and check out the house, while he went and put his stuff away, taking out the tablet he had in the bag that was  in his office and closed it, as he went downstairs and just got himself something to drink and went to go and sit on his couch, while he reviewed what he had written on the tablet earlier in the day. He figured it was better to give them the space they needed to get settled and then if they needed anything, he would respond to their questions with kind and help them out if needed.

Jackie went to their bedroom and looked around it and smiled.  It was a nice and comfortable enough place.

She asked them to stay in the room to play while she went to look for Graham so they could talk.  She forgotten about the fact the motel still had her clothes, so she did need to go back and get their stuff.

She went in and sat down where she found him.

"I'm sorry, but I got a bit airheaded and forgot we left all our stuff at the motel.  Can you take me there soon so we can get our clothes and stuff?"

"It's okay, we can go and get the stuff you need from the motel." He said as he put the tablet down and made sure it was locked and he put it away before coming back down and saying "if your ready, we can get going to the motel." He said as he got his keys from where he had stored them and walked outside to the car and got in it, starting up the car and waiting for her. Once he saw that she had joined him in the car, he would start the drive to the motel she was referring to, following directions by her to get there.

Jackie trusted her kids would be okay for a little while and used this time to get to know him without having to be careful about what was said around her babies.

"So... if we are welcome to stay awhile, we need to get to know each other a bit, right?"

She smiled at him.

"I've told you something about our problems, not really about who we are, and I'd like to learn who you are...."

She gave directions between their chat.

"Well, my name is Gabriel and I work for a pretty big IT firm, we provide remote IT services to many of our customers and help to keep our customers networks online. As far as stuff about me personally goes, I was born in the city and have lived in the same house that you are now living in with me ever since...when I was growing up, I had some fine motor skill issues and some other issues, but somehow found a way to live a normal life. I've never had a girlfriend, that's for sure and never had kids of my own, but want to." He said simply as he continued to drive and take directions from her.

[Ishigreensa]

"Why haven't you had a girlfriend or family before?" she asked him.  "You seem like a nice person."

She looked down.

"Nothing like the b...t...d...."  She said it just like that.  Bah... t... d! instead of the word she was thinking. "... that decided to leave me with these girls to raise on my own.  He left when Ashley was born saying that two were too much and he really didn't love me anyway."

She had tears in her eyes as she said this.  "I was stupid.  I thought he loved me, but he just used me until he found a way to get on without me."

"Now, that is sad and very very selfish as well as mean, if I were in his shoes and had your girls as my own, I wouldn't have left them and I most likely would have done my best to make sure that Ashley and Adriana would have been able to have good lives with both of their parents and would have tried to think of different solutions that could've been used to help them." He told her as he answered her question "Well, due to the issues I had growing up, I uhm, barely made friends, the few that I did have, went away for a while and we all fell out of contact with each other and stopped talking, moving on in our own lives. So, that's just how it is." He said as he looked at her and then back to his driving as the light changed and he continued driving to the motel.

Jackie nodded.

"Well, I was stupid, too, I guess.  If I had been a little wiser, I would have figured him out sooner."

She sighed.

"Oh, here it is."

She went to the room and started to gather the kids' stuff up.

If he went in with her, he'd see that she was not lying about her girls' problems as one unmade bed was just stained with pee stains.

"Not everyone can see what happens with certain people and you just happened to find that out, with that particular person, is all." He told her as he pulled into the motel parking lot.

He then got out and let her get out and get her room key before going into the room and seeing what Jacquie had been referring to, regarding her children and what happened with their bladders.

He waited for her to be able to gather up what she needed and then would help her bring some of the stuff down to the car and put it in the trunk of his car. If they needed more clothes, he could take the three of them shopping and they could go and choose their clothes.

Jackie sighed at the state of the bed that her daughters shared.  She knew the motel wanted to charge her credit card for damages, but she had so little credit, she doubted the credit card would completely cover it, and then she would be beside herself figuring out how to pay that off.

They needed new clothes, badly, but Jackie wouldn't say that to Graham.  She was already appreciative of him for taking them in and giving her daughters a safe place to eat and sleep.

But if he watched, he could see that every one of the children's panties were stained orange and yellow, their pants were all dingy and smelled from not being washed in days, and even a pair or two Jackie's panties were stained, and her clothes smelled just as bad.

She came over to him with a sigh.

"I guess I'm ready."

To note, there were no toys at all for the kids in the room, not even an ipad to share.

Graham noticed that Jackie definitely seemed worried about something, he was paying attention to what she was doing and what had gone on in the room and he noticed several things that he was very surprised about, but from what he saw they needed some replacement clothes and maybe he could get some toys for her kids. He also decided that he had some extra money lying around and would help them by paying for the room and any damage that might of happened in there. He would also let her get some clothes as well, since he noticed that some of Jackies panties seemed to be stained the same color as her kids underwear and that seemed a little surprising to him, but based on what she had told him, it didn't seem to be that concerning to her.

"Alright then. I have some extra money on me that I can use if you wanna go shopping and get some new clothes for your kids and yourself if you need them? Also, I'll help you out with the room. You don't have to worry about being in debt to me, because I'm doing this to help you." He told her as he smiled softly at her and then walked with her down to the motel office and then just explained the situation to the motel worker and paid for the room and the damage. He then walked out and back to the car, helping Jackie to put the stuff in the trunk.

Jackie looked down as he paid for the damages and stuff at the motel office. Once they were on the road again, she looked over at him. 
“But you are already doing so much for us. I can’t possibly ask you to buy stuff for us, too.”

"It's no trouble. Besides, I'm already letting you stay with me and your girls seem to need some new clothes as well as maybe getting some toys to play with, why wouldn't I just help you out and buy you some clothes? If I wasn't as nice as I am, I wouldn't be doing all of this for you three and I certainly wouidn't have even thought about taking you three in and giving you a place to stay and have a safe place to eat without worrying about getting stolen from, you know what I mean?" He asked her as he continued to drive and after at least an hour of driving, he reached his house again and got out, helping her with the stuff she had gotten from the hotel room and just went inside and putting the stuff down, letting her decide what she was gonna do with the clothes saying "if you need to wash anything your free to use the washing and drying machines in the kitchen, which is down the hall and to the right of the living room." He said as he went back to where his tablet was and resumed what he had been doing and started to take down some notes on his tablet as well, having both what he was reading and what he was taking notes on, side by side on the screen, if Jackie were to come back and look at what he was doing, she would see what was written, but not understand much of what it meant, but it would be very organized and detailed.

Jackie wasn't sure what to make of what he said at first.

But he was right.  If he wanted to, he could just throw them out, but he didn't seem to want to do that.  So why did he bring it up?  Her old boyfriend used to say something similar.  He used to try to use his "kindness" as sort of power over her to make her do what he wanted.

One of the reasons she got used to wetting her pants, besides having the trouble she had, was that he would expect her to do things before she was allowed to do anything for herself, even use the toilet.  If she was cooking, she better be finished before she asked him to go.  Then, he would say they were about to eat, so she would sit at the table, and pee in her seat while she ate too scared to do otherwise.

Her life had been messed up for so long....

He told her where the washing machines were, so she knew what was expected, or she projected on him, what the other boyfriends expected, and she took her and her daughter's stuff right down to sort and wash it.
