TGalactic2012
How long does it take for a catheter to weaken the renal sphincter to induce urinary incontinence? Link to comment
dlnoir
Personally I think the use of a catheter or stent for that matter will not cause incontinence no matter how long you use them. I been playing around with catheters and stents for well 14 years now for the most part 24/7 once I got the hang of it, not much changed. For sure your bladder will shrink so you will not be able to hold it for extended periods of time. Since there is nothing medically wrong with your sphincter muscles they will strengthen again once you take your catheter out, at least that is what I experienced. And after a while your bladder will stretch again to a normal size. After a long time of catheter use you will have to pee maybe every 20 minutes but the intervals will increase slowly but surely. The one thing that might work (I haven’t tried it, so it is just a thought) is the combination of the twelve months program and catheters or stents for that matter, then you will work from both ends, changing your mindset and teaching your body to continuously go.
