“It’s okay.....” Fern reluctantly decided on. At least it was only a little flower. Flowers were the least interesting plants, honestly. Besides those meat eating plants, anyway. “Can we go now?” He begged, clutching his shark toy in his hands, before pausing for a moment. “Please, Mommy?” He felt fidgety and excited, sitting still in a carseat would be awful, but it would be worth it if they arrived at the zoo sooner. “Can we spend all day there? Till it closes?”

Rachel's heart melted again at being called Mommy, "of course sweet thing, lets get going." Rachel let Maddie walk to the stairs before picking her up to carry her down. After making sure the diaper bag was filled with last minute snacks, a cup of water, and a bottle with enough formula to give Maddie her lunch, Rachel carried her daughter to the car and opened up the back seat to begin putting Maddie in her rear facing car seat. "OK Maddie, be sure to hold Benchley tight since you won't be able to see Mommy. It'll be better when you have Brie sitting in the back seat with you to keep you company. It's only about fifteen minutes away, so the sooner we get going the sooner we see the animals." Rachel was glad they were both wearing jackets, it was still rather chilly out as she closed her car door and walked around the driver seat. "We can spend as long there as you like, now, if we're all buckled lets get going!" Rachel turned the key in the ignition and they were on their way to May's

Sitting in the carseat was always boring, he couldn’t see anything besides the back of the car, and a bit from the window. Yet another thing being so small cheated him out of, he had to sit facing the rear. But he didn’t care too much today, he had Benchley and soon enough they’d be on their way to the zoo! “I’ll stay till I fall asleep then.” Which tended to still be pretty early to be fair, his bedtime was awfully early. Fern wiggled impatiently in the carseat, lightly tapping his feet against the bottom of it as he waited.

"Well I think they close before then, and we're certainly going to take a nap while we're there, but aside from those, we can stay all day if you'd like. The drive was uneventful but Rachel was happy the whole way there even without mood boosting music. Being called Mommy, and more than once, had primed her for the great day she knew they were sure to have. She did wonder about Brie though, hopefully after a few nights ago things wouldn't be too difficult with Maddie. She was also interested to see if the so called free little regressed anymore. At the rate she was on, it wouldn't surprise Rachel if Maddie got a new cousin soon. Once they arrived Rachel brought the car into the parking area and got out, getting Maddie and carrying her in her adjustable seat into the building. She was at least grateful that with Maddie being so little moving her seat was fairly easy. If Maddie were Brie's size she'd have to contend with a front facing seat and that wouldn't be as easy to just get up and go with. Rachel sent a text to May to let her know they'd arrived and entered the building, taking the elevator up the stairs and making her way to the outside of May's door. "Here we are baby, lets get some breakfast, get in the car with May and Brie and get going." Rachel knocked on the door and waited for an answer, hoping May hadn't slept in.
