Alice: I rub your back

After I calm down a bit I ask something I was too afraid to before. "W-why do you want to keep me?"

Alice: Because we love you sweetie

[Wannatripbaby]

"B-but why? There are plenty of other children that aren't b-broken like I am."

Alice: Yes there are but we chose you

[Wannatripbaby]

"B-but why?"

[jan241989]

Alice: Because we did

[Wannatripbaby]

Because we did.

I couldn’t even begin to fathom why they'd pick me over anyone else. Me, the diaper-wearing 10-year old with anxiety issues. I just couldn't wrap my head around it.

Alice: I start to hum to you

[Wannatripbaby]

Her humming had an almost instantly calming effect on me. I was still sniffling, but the tears and the shaking stopped. So I just held onto her and let my Mommy's sweet music sooth me.

Bob: I come in and see my to girls and i smile

[Wannatripbaby]

I didn't even hear Daddy come in as I was too engrossed in my Mommy’s humming.

Alive: I continue to hum to you

[Wannatripbaby]

I was completely numb, but in a good way. I felt like I was floating in a warm pool. I think I might've peed a little in my diaper, but honestly I wasn’t sure. I could hardly feel my body. All I felt was love.

It was heaven.

Alice: Look honey there's daddy

[Wannatripbaby]

I open my eyes slightly, but otherwise don't react. I couldn’t have smiled wider if I wanted to, and I was too warm and numb to try to speak. I just wanted to continue soaking in this new heaven I'd found forever.

Alice: I wait for you to tell me to change your diaper

[Wannatripbaby]

My eyes drifted closed again. And in the perfect warmth and comfort of my Mommy’s embrace I fell into the most peaceful sleep I've had in years. Maybe ever.

Alice: I move and lay you on the couch near me

[Wannatripbaby]

I sleep for a while and wake up to the familiar, normally-blissful numbness. But compared to the warmth I felt earlier this numbness felt cold. Like a dark cave. The dreadful thought that the whole thing might've been a dream and I was still back at the orphanage caused me to sit up in a near-panic.

Alice: Why look who's up

I breath a sigh of relief. "Hi Mommy."

Alice: How was your nap

[Wannatripbaby]

"Good." When did I fall asleep, anyway? I remember falling asleep earlier, but that was in my bed, not on the couch. Then... let's see... I played with dolls, we baked cookies, she took me into the computer room... or was that part of the dream? It must've been. It was too amazing to be real.

Alice: What would you like for dinner tonight
