"Oh, sweetie, it's okay, I know you don't feel good--James! Are you wearing training pants?!" Sharon was shocked when she felt his pajamas, and then herself, getting wet. She hadn't meant to sound angry, she was just surprised.

"I sorry, Mommy! I didn't know I had to potty until it came out!"

"I'm sorry, sweetheart, Mommy's not angry. I just thought you were wearing a pull-up. I should have asked Daddy what you were wearing. That was Mommy's fault, okay? I'm sorry. Let's go get you changed." Sharon picked James up and carried him to the bathroom.

He lay on her shoulder, still sniffling and embarrassed about wetting his pants.

Sharon quickly got James bathed and into a dry pull-up and pajamas. "It's all right, honey. Try to tell Mommy when you have to go potty again, but I know you don't feel good, so it's okay if you don't make it."

James nodded and held his arms up for Sharon to hold him.

Sharon carried James to her room and laid him down on her bed so she could change clothes.

"I sorry I pee-peed on you," James said sadly.

[Carrie96]

"Oh, sweetheart, it's okay. You didn't mean to. This will just take a second, and Mommy will be as good as new." Sharon quickly wet a cloth and washed herself where pee-pee had seeped through her clothes before putting some clean clothes on. After rinsing out both her and James's wet clothes, she picked him up and carried him to the living room.

Sharon sat in the rocking chair and covered him with a blanket, holding him tight. "Want to go night-night?"

James nodded sleepily and inhaled his mommy's familiar smell, warm and cozy on her shoulder as he began to fall asleep.

Sharon kissed his forehead and patted his back as he drifted off. "I love you, sweet boy."

"Wait just a minute." Sharon grabbed some tissue and held it to James's nose. "Blow, honey. Let's try to get some of the yuck out."

James obediently blew into the tissue and settled back on Sharon's shoulder.

"Sleep good, precious. I'm sorry you don't feel good. Mommy will be right here when you wake up."

James nodded and fell asleep, warm and comfy in his mommy's arms.

Sharon found a movie on TV and read as James slept on her shoulder.

James slept fitfully, waking up every so often, wanting juice for his sore throat.

Sharon patted his back and hummed softly when he got restless, helped him drink his juice when he wanted it, and soothed him back to sleep each time he woke up.

James finally fell deeply asleep, but the juice caused his bladder to fill without him realizing it.

Sharon sighed sympathetically when she heard the trickling sound coming from his crotch, knowing he was wetting himself. She patted his back and held him more tightly, hoping he wouldn't wake up.

James woke up a little while later, and the first thing he noticed was the wet coldness against his crotch.

Sharon ran her hand through his hair and kissed his warm forehead. "It's okay, darling. You were sleeping and didn't realize you had to go. Let's go get you changed, and then we can read a little bit before lunch, okay?"
