"I'm captain of two of the sports teams so maybe you'll be captain too. I'm soccer and basketball. Don't worry what your dad thinks. It's what you think is what matters.

"Basketball? That's really cool. I like to play, but I'm not that good. And I don't have those fancy shoes like the ball players have"

[Danny]

"Maybe I'll get you some.

"I could see. I don't really know much about babies"

Randy comes up to talk to you

"Hi Dan. Happy birthday"
He gives you an envelope with a card inside

[Danny]

"I can teach you. It's easy" I laugh

"Did you like that? I put some money in it for you. 20 Bucks. 1 dollar for every year. Plus interest. Don't spend it all in one place.

So this is where you live huh? It's nice. This is practically a mansion. Much nicer than the farm. You be nice to these ladies here, ok"

[Danny]

"Thanks dad. It's nice of you" I smile as I shake his hand

[Danny]

Looks a little worried "sure why not" I say, wanting Peter to meet his baby brother and sister properly this time

Randy: "Wow. This is nice"

[Danny]

"Is Randy allowed to see the babies?" I ask, not comfortable with calling him dad yet.

I look at my mom and cuddle her "Thanks honey"

"Allowed? Yes. We'll talk about it later. Just enjoy your party. And you can call him whatever you want"

[Danny]

I hug her and go back to Randy

"Do you want to meet you son and daughter? for proper this time?" i ask smiling.

I sneak into the kitchen and grab my swim diapers from the sink and run up to my room, hoping i haven't been seen by my dad or Pete

"I think I should wait until they get older. I don't know too much about babies"

[Danny]

Looks at you "You should start learning, you're their dad, and you are mine too. It's not too late you know. you was there for Peter, right?"

"Sport, you know I'm not here to dad them. Pete's mom did most of the work when he was that size. I can't do that stuff now. I'm too old"

[Danny]

Looks at you and laughs "You're still their dad no matter what. You can't back down on your responsibilities you know. It's because of you that they're here. And I thank you for that because I adore them. And you can't be that old because I am only 17 and you had me when you was my age"

"Buddy, I have a confession to make. I didn't just sign the papers for the sake of the kids. I don't know how to take care of a baby. I've never really been around them. This arrangement is for the best"

[Danny]

Looks at him stunned "I think it's best if you leave and never come back.

"I came to see you for your birthday. Not do this baby stuff. I'm not their parent. Yes I want to be a part of their lives. If it makes you feel any better, Amanda can't do this baby thing either. She's been having some problems lately"

[Danny]

"I said can you please leave! Or I'll call the police. You're not my dad.

"OK, honey. You know he's under no obligation to be your dad"

Randy: "I don't know what happened. The kid just started screaming at me to take care of the twins. I'm not their dad. I'm not here to be"

[Danny]

"I never said take care of them! And who are you calling me a kid! Call me by my name if you have any dignity left. Now get out!" I say angrily but not loud so I don't upset the younger ones"

Connie: "That's enough, young man. Stop yelling at him. You're not supposed to yell at adults. I'd hate to have to punish you on your birthday.
