Katie nodded and smiled. "Dad did your pamphlet say anything about my pump thingy?" She asked, suddenly worried about swimming with it.

He looked through the pamphlet for the information.

"I'll call the doctor later," he told her.

Katie nodded. "Coach would be upset if I wasn't on any of the teams." She said softly.

He didn't like her going to the bathroom on her own, but he didn't try to stop her.

"I know. It was mostly a joke." Katie said softly. She ate about 4 plates and then some soft serve ice cream.

She checked her sugar levels before they left and nodded to her dad. "I'm okay but I think that's enough sugar for a few hours." She said heading to the car.

"Well, I do need to take you to school and explain some stuff to the office," he told her.

Katie nodded and smiled. She figured it was as good a time as any to talk the coach.

Katie shrugged but went in with her father. She stuck her hands in her pockets and pushed her glasses up on her nose. She sighed a little but stayed close to her dad.

They first went in to talk to the principal.

"We figured out what is going on with Katie," he told the principal.

"Dad why'd you have to bring up the bathroom? I've never had a daytime accident after the age of 7." Katie said embarrassed.

John could see she was out of sorts, so he decided it was probably safer to just get quiet until they reached the Science Center.
