Paula smiled and patted Bo MI's hair. "It's no problem sweetie. Now you can get comfortable or go watch TV downstairs while I start dinner."

"No that's fine." She said, assuming Jason was just going to get gas.

Jason smiled and patted Bo Mi's shoulder.

"Maybe Bo Mi would like to come with me?"

Bo Mi smiled but shook her head.

"No, I stay by mommy," she said.

"Do you wanna stay up here or come downstairs and watch tv or help me make dinner?" Paula asked, unsure what the girl would want to do. "I'm glad honey." She smiled.

Bo Mi smiled up at her mom and she thought a moment.

"I want to be wherever you are, mommy.

[Shy-Diapers]

"Okay honey." Paula said sensing Bo Mi felt a little clingy. When they got downstairs she smiled.

Bo Mi looked up at her.

"I'll help you as you need me," she said.

"Okay." Paula said. She had Bo Mi help with things like stirring and pouring water once it was measured.

Jason didn't go away, but rather opened the door when he heard her voice crack.

Katie quickly took the food from her dad, she didn't want to risk him taking it away for after dinner. She started eating the ice cream so it wouldn't melt.

"Honey, I think your mom had some bad experiences in high school, and it was probably related to goth wannabes.

[Shy-Diapers]

"I'm giving her a chance! It's hard to be around her when all she wants to do is change me! I'm not broken I don't need to be fixed." Katie said with a sigh. She didn't sound frustrated anymore, but rather depressed and hurt.

The fact she was getting skinnier and skinnier somewhat worried Jason.

"Well, I know you think you are.

[Shy-Diapers]

Katie wasn't planning on telling her mom about anything. She ate a few chips but then closed the bag and shoved it in her nightstand dresser. She wanted to save them for later.

Jason shrugged off the dirty look.

Soon enough dinner was ready and the ice cream was finished.

Jason looked at Bo Mi.

"Honey, can you go get Katie, honey?"

He thought maybe the younger girl might be a friendly enough face to coax her out.

He looked at Paula a little sternly.

"Not one word about her appearance or her actions over dinner.

Paula sighed. "She should've come downstairs if she wanted to eat." She shook her head.

"Bo Mi come in, please?" she said again.

She knocked on the door.

"Please?"

Katie sighed and fixed herself up a bit so she was presentable.

Bo Mi shook her head.

"Your dad send me."

She smiled.

"But you no eat, me no eat, too.

[Shy-Diapers]

"Well that's not how we do things here." Katie said matter of factly. She didn't want to walk on eggshells around this girl.

Bo Mi crossed her arms and sat down.

"Then I no eat.

[Shy-Diapers]

Katie shrugged. She went to the bathroom and started the water. She had school tomorrow and needed to clean up. If the foreign girl wanted to stay in her room she really didn't care. She'd find another place to sleep if need be.

Bo Mi sighed and sat there not moving.

Eventually, Jason came up and found her sitting there.

"She no eat dinner," Bo Mi said.

Paula gave Jason a look. She didn't know why he was carrying the girl. Her legs were fine and she didn't need to be carried downstairs.
