Ralph had promised her he wouldn't change her if she didn't want it, and at the moment, she was blocking him, so he stopped.

Tom left the living room to give them some privacy, but Ralph wasn't sure if she wanted him to change her or not.

He kept patting her back and trying to calm her.

"Honey, it's okay," he told her.

Avishag continued to ramble on in Hebrew, constantly forgetting to use English.

"I don't mind you not talking," Ralph told her as he started to change her since Tom was no longer in the room.

Avishag pointed to Uncle Ralph. She didn't really know how to change herself. Besides she was used to him doing it.

Ralph nodded.

"That won't happen here, honey.

[Shy-Diapers]

Avishag nodded. "Do I have to talk at school?" She asked softly. She was only just getting comfortable talking at home but now she was scared to tak at school with all those different people.

[Ishigreensa]

"No, you can talk at school when you are ready," Ralph told her.

[Shy-Diapers]

Avishag frowned. She misunderstood her uncle and felt like she would do bad if she didn't be in the normal classroom. She sighed a little.

Ralph kept her in his lap after he had changed her into a pair of panties.

"Are you okay?" he asked her.

[Shy-Diapers]

"I don't like school!" Avishag blurted out. She started to cry again. "I don't understand nothing! The letters aren't what we use at my school or what momma taught me!" She was obviously frustrated. Hebrew may not have been her first language, but it was the first language she learned to read and write. English was secondary.

Ralph hugged her and rocked her.

"Honey, it's okay," he said softly to her.

[Shy-Diapers]

"English is hard!" Avishag said sadly. "The letters are weird and you read and write the wrong way!" She said referring to the fact that Hebrew was read and written right to left.

[Ishigreensa]

"Well, I understand that Hebrew was probably very important in reading your religious books, right?" he said.

[Shy-Diapers]

"I know I gotta learn to read English. I kinda know how." Avishag said softly. She felt stupid. She was taught English in school and by her mother but it was difficult. English had more rules. She had trouble reasons do writing Hebrew as well, but it was a little easier because she had more practice.

[Ishigreensa]

"It's okay, honey," Ralph said continuing to rock her.

Eventually Tom reappeared, but before he came into the living room, he called out.

Avishag sat up a little. She quietly climbed off her uncle's lap and hugged her cousin's legs shaking her head. That was her nonverbal way of apologizing.

Tom smiled and patted her head when she hugged him.

Then Ralph picked her up when she came back into his lap.

"I think we should go start dinner," he told her.

Avishag nodded and pointed to her discarded lunch box. It was still completely full.

He carried her through to the kitchen while Tom went and checked her box.

"DAD!" he yelled.

Avishag squeaked and shrank when she heard Tom yell. She clearly got very startled.

John could see she looked upset.

"Honey, you're not in trouble.

[Shy-Diapers]

Avishag frowned. She looked down and nodded. She wasn't very comfortable talking around Tom yet.
