Avishag pointed to the normal underwear. She figured she could use the bathroom at school. In her old school you could just get up and go to the bathroom unless it was during prayers. She didn't want other people to notice she was wearing a pull-up. Tom certainly did and she didn't want that incident repeated.

He nodded and gave her the panties.

"Okay, honey.

(Okay I was wondering. Because I wasn't sure to include any upcoming Jewish holidays or not because of the month.)

Avishag nodded and slipped her panties on.

She was going to find out that American public schools were a lot different from her Jewish schools.

Avishag poked at her breakfast nervously. She didn't feel like eating this morning. Her stomach was in knots and she was afraid anything she did eat she'd throw up later on.

Ralph smiled.

"Too nervous, huh?"

He picked her up and carried her up to finish getting her ready, and then soon had her in the car to take her to school.

"Everything will be okay, baby.

Avishag nodded. She stayed quiet as usual in the backseat. When they got to the school she gripped tightly onto her uncle's hand. She was afraid of him leaving her. She's lost everything else in her life now she didn't want it to happen again.

"Before she begins the day, I really want a word with the principal, the counselor, the nurse, and her teacher in one meeting," he told them.

Avishag's head was spinning. Everything seemed crazy fast.

Mr. Strictland walked her over to an empty seat, and smiled.

"This is your seat for now," he told her.

Avishag looked down when she heard the kids whispering about her. Technically there would be things wrong with her if she was evaluated. She would have qualified for special help in gen ed classrooms if she had been in public school her whole life

Being a highly prized teacher and very motivated in finding things, he walked around the room watching and then he found that Avi was having way too much trouble with the math.

Avishag swallowed hard. What did she do? She felt like she was in trouble.

"Relax, baby," he said to her using soft words.

Avishag sat down where she was told and shook her head. She didn't have to use the bathroom or go anywhere. She was just extremely nervous. Everything was new and scary.

"Okay, honey.

Avishag looked at the paper. She hated math. She stared at the paper focusing hard. After a ton of thinking she was able to do the simplest of addition like 1+2 but that was it.

"Okay," the counselor took the paper from her.

"It's okay.

Avishag understood the simple words and almost all the bigger ones.

The counselor smiled after a while, and she nodded.

"Okay, honey.

Avishag nodded through her tears. She wished she had her sheep with her.

The counselor smiled.

Avishag opened the toy box and pulled out a hello kitty coloring book and some crayons. She smiled and sat down on a blue square on the rug and started coloring. She was feeling better now that she had a distraction from everything going on.

The nice lady was gone for more than forty-five minutes.

Ralph had finally been convinced to come back and pick her up to talk about her learning disabilities, and to see a doctor to make sure it was only related to academic problems.

When the door was opened, Avishag ran over to the nice woman, her hands between her legs trying not to have an accident. She looked up at her nervously, really needing to go.
