The replacement baby

Ashley instantly cuddled into Grace crying into her shoulder being in so much pain. She let herself be carried over to the bench. She whimpered when she was put down really wanting to be held right now. She let Grace clean her knee up.

Ashley thought about it for a second and said, "home mommy." She hoped Grace was okay with her calling her mommy. Ashley reached up to Grace to be picked up again. She just wanted to cuddle right now.

[robehouse]

"Okay baby, we'll go home."

Grace put everything in the stroller and stood up, still holding Ashley. She walked home carrying Ashley, cuddling her into shoulder. She went into the house and carried Ashley upstairs. She got some bandages from the bathroom and carried Ashley into the nursery. She sat her on the changing table and then put some ointment on the knee before bandaging it.

"Do you want to lay on the couch for awhile, or do you want to take a nap?"

Ashley was super relieved to find out they were going home. She cuddled close to Grace when she picked her up. She put her head on her shoulder and sucked on her pacifier now calmed down completely. She held onto Grace as she carried her home.

Grace looked at her watch.

"Yes, I guess it is lunch time. How about I fix you a bottle of formula and you can drink that while we cuddle on the couch?"

Grace set Ashley down on the couch and went to the kitchen. She fixed a bottle of formula and came back to the living room.She sat down next to Ashley and lifted her onto her lap. She started feeding her the bottle and cuddling with her.

Ashley smiled and nodded wanting a bottle badly at this point. She cuddled into Grace as she was carried downstairs. She then sat on the couch waiting for her new mommy to come back.

Ashley instantly cuddled back into Grace when she lifted her back into her arms. She cuddled into Grace and began to drink her bottle happily and smiled big.

Grace smiled back at Ashley. She held the bottle for Ashley and rocked her in her arms. Grace turned on the tv to a children's show and cuddled with Ashley.

"Are you glad I'm your new mommy, Ashley?"

Ashley smiled up at Grace and nodded while drinking her bottle. She was happier than she had been in a long time. She looked up at Grace while sucking on her bottle and drinking it, she looked at Grace with her big brown eyes and all that could be seen in them is happiness and love towards Grace. She finished her bottle a little fast this time and whined because she tummy hurt slightly.

Grace took the bottle and set it aside. She lifted Ashley up on her lap and laid her against her chest. She started rubbing and patting her back.

"Go ahead and burp for mommy, Ashley. It will make your tummy feel better."

Ashley laid against Graces chest and as she patted her back. She let out a few small burps and began to feel better. She then just continued to lay her head on Graces chest and listen to her heart beat as she smiled big and felt content. She began to suck on her thumb nit having a pacifier.

Grace heard Ashley burp a few times then let her rest against her chest. She rubbed Ashley's back and smiled at her.

"When your knee is feeling better we can go to the store and get you some more clothes and toys. How does that sound?"

Ashley cuddled close to her new mommy feeling relieved that her tummy feels better. She keeps her head on Graces chest and listened to her head beat.

Ashley nodded and said, "my knee is feeling little better and me could ride in the cart at the store mommy. So we could go now."

Grace smiled at Ashley and turned off the tv. She stood up and held Ashley as she got the diaper bag from the stroller. She carried Ashley out to her car and put Ashley in the back seat, fastening her seat belt.

Ashley smiled and cuddled into Grace as she was carried to the car. She smiled when she was put in the car but frowned when there is no car seat. She smiled big when Grace said they were gonna get a car seat for her.

Ashley sat in the back seat smiling away as they headed to the store. She wet her diaper without realizing. She sucked on her thumb since she didn't have her pacifier anymore.

When they reached the store, Grace got out of the car and got Ashley out as well. She carried her up to the store and got a shopping cart. She lowered Ashley into the seat, then fastened the belt around her waist. Grace pushed the cart into the store.

"How about we go to the baby department first and see what we can get there? I did say I was picking up the car seat first."

Grace pushed Ashley over to the baby department, then found the car seats.

"Do you see one you like?"

Ashley watched out the window as the drove to the store. She was amazed at all the beautiful things she saw as if she was seeing for the first time. She smiled so big being so happy.

Ashley smiled big as she was lifted out of the cart and carried into the store. She smiled when she was put in the cart still in her soaked diaper.

Ashley smiled as she was pushed to the baby department and looked around at the car seats. She seen a pink large toddler car seat with a five point harness. She pointed to it and said, "dat one mommy."

Grace looked at the one Ashley pointed to, making sure it would work in her car. She slid one of the boxes with the car seat in it under the cart and then continued shopping. She noticed Ashley's diaper.

"How about we go get you changed so you can be comfortable? Then we can continue shopping.

Grace started looking for the bathroom so she could change Ashley.

Ashley smiled when Grace put that car seat in the cart. She then listened to her talk about a diaper change and nodded. She started looking around for a bathroom as well. The urge to poop hit her and she decided not to hold it. She instantly started filling her diaper and finished pretty quickly.

Grace parked the cart near the bathroom and got Ashley out. She carried Ashley into the bathroom and saw they had a changing station. She pulled the table down and got the changing mat out, laying it on the table. She laid Ashley on the mat and pushed her skirt out of the way. She unsnapped her onesie and opened the diaper.

"Someone has a messy diaper. Good thing I'm changing you."

Grace cleaned Ashley some with baby wipes and carefully took off the messy diaper, throwing it away. She finished cleaning Ashley and put a clean diaper under her. Grace sprinkled baby powder on Ashley and taped the diaper snugly. She snapped the onesie closed and picked Ashley up, setting her on the floor. Grace washed her hands and packed everything in the diaper bag. She picked Ashley up and took her back out to the cart, putting her in the seat.

"There we go. All done. Let's get on with our shopping."

Ashley looked around at everything as they headed to the bathroom. She then cuddled into Grace when she picked her up. She then laid still on the changing table while Grace began to change her. Ashley nodded to having a messy diaper.

Ashley laid still the whole time while Grace cleaned up her messy bottom. She sucked on her thumb happily and smiled up at Grace she was put into a new diaper.

Ashley then smiled when she was dressed and then put back in the cart. She nodded and satin the cart and said, "otay mommy."

When they got back to the baby department, Grace looked for the pacifiers first. She put several different kinds in the cart, keeping one out. She got three straps to put on the pacifier as well. Grace opened the pacifier she was holding that said 'Baby girl' on it and attached one of the straps. She clipped the strap to the collar of Ashley's onesie. Grace showed Ashley the pacifier.

"Look, baby. It say's 'Baby Girl' on it. Everyone will know you are my baby girl now, if they didn't know already."

Grace tugged Ashley's thumb out of her mouth out of her mouth, replacing it with the pacifier.

Ashley sat in the cart looking around at all the stuff around her feeling so happy. She smiled when Grace picked out a bunch of pacifier and clips and put them in the cart. She then smiled when she got one out and hooked it to her shirt.

Ashley smiled at the pacifier at what it said on it and smiled at Grace. She said, "me wuv it mommy." She then instantly began to suck on it when Grace put it in her mouth

Grace smiled when Ashley said she loved her pacifier.

"That's good baby."

Grace started looking around the baby department. She saw the baby toys.

"Do you see any toys you want, Ashley?"

Ashley smiled looking around and she pointed to some blocks, some rattles, some teething rings, some toy keys, a cute pink teddy bear, and a doll. She points to all of it hoping Grace would get it for her.

Ashley sat in the cart sucking on her pacifier and smiled big. She continued to look around at everything happily.

Grace loaded the toys in the cart, then went over to the toddler girl clothes section. She put several more onesies in the cart and looked at the dresses. She put several of them in the cart as well.

"What else do you think we need to get you to wear?"

Ashley smiled when Grace loaded al the toys into the cart. She then looked around at all the clothes when they headed to that section. She smiled at all the clothes Grace put in the cart sucking on her pacifier. She said, "can we get some overalls mommy or shorttalls?"
