He finished cleaning Elizabeth and led her to her room, where he handed her a pull up and dry pajamas. "Get dressed," he said as he started pulling the wet sheets off the bed. Link to comment

He knew he wouldn't get any sleep with two kids in the bed, but was sure it would only fuel the girl's resentment towards Emme if he said no. "Okay. But only for tonight. She's scared and confused and she's used to sleeping with me," Luke explained as the toddler cried. "Shh, it's okay," he said, reaching over Elizabeth to grab Emme, who quieted down as soon as she was on Luke's lap. "Now be quiet and go to sleep, or you can go back to your own room," he said to Elizabeth as he sat rubbing Emme's back. Link to comment

He was just drifting off to sleep when he heard Sadie wailing in the nursery; at five weeks old, she was up about every two to three hours wanting to eat. Link to comment

justagirl4fun Posted October 9, 2015 Author Share Posted October 9, 2015 Sadie calmed down as soon as she was in her mother's arms, and once she was fed and changed went right back to sleep. Luke dozed off as Julia tended to the baby, Emme curled up next to him. Neither stirred when Julia came back to bed. Link to comment

Surprisingly, Emme was still sound asleep next to him. Careful not to disturb her he slipped out of bed and stumbled downstairs where he found his wife in the kitchen. "Morning," he mumbled, giving her a kiss before reaching for the coffee. "Did you get any sleep?" Link to comment
