justagirl4fun
Luke sighed and slumped in his seat, feeling completely drained and defeated. He tried to ignore the noise, thankful that at least Sadie, with a fully belly and clean diaper, remained sound asleep. Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
Julia tried to drain everything out as she drove home. After what seemed like eternity, they were home. 'We're here!" She announced over Elizabeth's cries, which had not faded the whole time. Link to comment
justagirl4fun
"Thank god," Luke muttered under his breath as he got out of the car and rescued Emme, who was by this point in full-blown meltdown mode, from her carseat. He grabbed his carry on and headed for the door, figuring he'd go back out for the rest of the luggage later, once the girls were all in bed. Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
Alison helped Elizabeth out of her carseat before grabbing her balnket and pillow. Elizabeth ran inside and had stopped crying. She was just sniffling now, but still very upset about having to be in wet clothes, "Let's get you to bed before you start crying, huh?" Julia cooed to Sadie as she caried her in Link to comment
justagirl4fun
"Come on Elizabeth, you and Emme can take a bath together, okay?" Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
Elizabeth reached up for Luke to carry her. She wasn't very happy that Emme got to be carried, but she had to walk. Link to comment
justagirl4fun
"You know, you're getting too big for this," Luke said, but picked her up, groaning with each step as he carried the girls upstairs to the master bathroom, which had a very large tub. He got the girls in and filled the tub with about six inches of water, which seemed to be what Emme was used to at the orphanage; any more than that and she freaked out. Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
Elizabeth wanted to complain about the lack of water, but was honestly just happy to be able to get cleaned off after having two accidents just between home and the airport. Link to comment
justagirl4fun
Luke got the girls washed, then lifted them out of the tub and wrapped them in towels. "Okay Elizabeth, go get your pajamas on. I'm gonna get Emme dressed, then we can read a bedtime story." He headed to the nursery, which Emme would be sharing with Sadie for the time being, and got the girl diapered and into a pair of pajamas. He made a mental note to go in the attic the following day to get out the 18-month sized clothes they had. From the paperwork they'd received from the adoption agency they knew the almost-3-year-old was small for her age, but she was smaller than expected and even the 2Ts he'd brought to China were too big; the dresses and tops were do-able, but the pants and shorts slid right down Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
Elizabeth put a pair of pajama shorts and a tshirt on for bed over her big girl panties, hoping to get away with not having to wear a diaper to bed. She was hoping Luke would be too tired to notice or realize he didn't put one on her after bed. Link to comment
justagirl4fun
Being seriously jet-lagged and exhausted from the trip, Luke didn't even notice that Elizabeth didn't have a diaper on. "What book do you want?" Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
Elizabeth without hesitation, said "Whinnie The Pooh!" excitedly. Elizabeth refused to be read a different book in the last 4 months. Link to comment
justagirl4fun
Luke chuckled, wondering why he even bothered to ask. He got up and grabbed the well-worn story book from the bookshelf, then settled in next to Elizabeth with Emme on his lap and began to read. Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
Elizabeth smiled and snuggled up against her father as he opened the book. By the time he was halfway through with it, she was fast asleep with her thub in her mouth. Link to comment
justagirl4fun
Once Elizabeth was asleep Luke tucked her in, kissed her goodnight, and tiptoed out of the room with Emme, who's tummy was starting to grumble. He brought her downstairs and made her a bowl of oatmeal knowing that it was one of the few things she would willingly eat. Once he was done he fixed her a bottle and carried her upstairs. He tried putting her down in the bed they'd set up for her in the nursery, but she clung to him and fussed so, rather than have her wake Sadie, he brought her to his room and set Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
"It's okay. I want as many kids asleep as possible." Julia smiled and stroked Emme's hair gently. Link to comment

Shy-Diapers
Julia pulled her hand away and tries to reassure Emme. "Baba? When Daddy comes out of the bathroom I can get you a baba." She smiled, knowing that the toddler wouldn't understand her, but hopes to relax her a bit. Link to comment

Shy-Diapers
Julia looked at her husband warily. She knew Emme was scared and stressed, but still hoped that they could all get some sleep that night. Link to comment
justagirl4fun
"She'll be fine," Luke lied. He really had no idea if the girl would sleep or not, but hoped she would. He knew she had to be exhausted, but the jet lag might keep her up. Link to comment
Shy-Diapers
Julia nodded and went to sleep soon. She just hoped things would go smoother tomorrow, and the girls would be nicer about Emme. Link to comment
justagirl4fun
Luke wrapped an arm around Emme, and before long he felt her relax and could tell by her breathing that she was asleep. He closed his eyes and hoped he could get in at least a few hours before Sadie woke for her midnight feeding. Link to comment
