Sarah sobbed for a while longer before falling back to sleep being exhausted from all the crying. She kept her arms around Valeire even as she fell asleep.

Valerie got up and brought Sarah to bed with her, tucking her in with her blanket and toy before climbing under the covers next to her.

Sarah slept peacefully for the rest of the night not having anymore nightmares luckily.

Janie woke up early the next morning, ravenous after being sent to bed without eating. She went downstairs and made herself breakfast, first a bowl of cereal, then two pieces of toast with raspberry jam. Then she went to the living room and turned on cartoons, leaving drips of milk, bits of cereal, and globs of jam all over the kitchen.

Sarah slept peacefully and only woke up when she felt the clammy diaper underneath her. She shook Valerie awake gently and tried to get her diaper off.

"Okay, okay, I'm awake," Valerie mumbled as Sarah shook her. "Come on, let's get changed." She got out of bed and reached for Sarah's hand.

Sarah yawned and let Valerie lead her back to her room to get changed. She rubbed her eyes as she tried to wake up more.

Valerie soon had Sarah in a dry pull up. "Okay, you want to go get some breakfast, or you want to go back to bed for a bit?" she asked, as it was still early.

Valerie pointed back to Valerie's room hoping to get some more sleep without having another nightmare.

Valerie brought Sarah back to her room, noticing on the way that Janie's door was open. She hoped the girl was staying out of trouble as she climbed back into bed with Sarah.

Sarah cuddled into Valerie before dozing off for a while not getting much sleep after the nightmare.

Sarah started to stir when Janie came in. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes before her face turned bright red. "Uh oh." She said softly feeling a small puddle around her where her pull-up had leaked.

Valerie felt the dampness under the covers and knew what was bothering Sarah. "Janie, next time would you knock first?" she groaned as she sat up. "Go back downstairs, we'll be down in a bit."

Sarah looked down at her lap when Janie was complaining about being treated unfairly. She started to cry when she saw how disgusted Janie was with the wet bed. She tried her best not to cry. "Sorry." She said softly, feeling embarrassed and ashamed for getting the bed wet even though she had a pull-up on.

"Don't be sorry, it's not your fault. Those pull ups are just useless in bed," Valerie said cheerfully as she picked Sarah up and brought her to the bathroom to clean up.

Sarah sniffles and felt better seeing how cheerful Valerie made it sound. "There something wrong with me?" She asked softly, her voice small and high.

"No, there's nothing wrong with you," Valerie said as she disposed of the wet pull up and wiped Sarah off.

"Janie said." Sarah said quietly still, not knowing to speak any louder. "I no talk."

"Honey, if you don't want to talk, you don't have to. There's nothing wrong with that," Valerie said as she brought Sarah to her room and selected an outfit for her to wear before grabbing a dry pull up. "Though I'm glad you are talking."

Sarah looked down at her feet when Valerie said she liked her talking. "Sometimes I can't. I don't know how to talk." She blushed a little, thinking it was such a babyish thing for someone to not know how to do.

Sarah smiled when Valerie understood what she meant. She gave the woman a big hug and smiled a genuine smile for the first time since the fire. "Thank you Miss."

Valerie hugged Sarah back and smiled. "Okay, let's get you dressed as we'll go get some breakfast," she said after holding the girl tight for a minute. She helped her into her pull up, followed by a jean skirt and a pink Sleeping Beauty t-shirt. She stood up and reached for Sarah's hand. "Time to eat," she said cheerfully, hoping the girl would willingly eat her breakfast.

Sarah smiled and helped Valerie get her dressed. She felt like she could talk to Valerie now and she wasn't afraid anymore, Janie was different though. She stopped when she heard they were going to eat. "No." She said softly, almost a plead. "Not hungry."
