"I knocked Evie over. They're probably mad."

Cora: it's okay Kristin it was an accident they understand

I stand up to go talk to Colin and Charlotte

Cora: I'll be right back

I walk over and find Colin

Cora: Daddy, Kristin is scared that you're mad at her and will hit her like in the foster home

I say to Colin once Kristin is out of earshot

"Of course we won't hit her. Neither one of us saw what happened, but I'm assuming it was an accident," Colin said, still trying to quiet Evie.

[Shy-Diapers]

Cora: she doesn't believe me will you please tell her she's worried

I say feeling so bad for my little sister

Cora: Please? She's terrified right now.

[justagirl4fun]

"Okay." Colin handed the baby back to Charlotte and went to talk to Kristyn. "Kristyn, honey, please come out from there. We're not mad and we're not going to hit you, I promise."

[Shy-Diapers]

Cora: Kristin it's okay they are never going to hurt us

I say gently rubbing your back

Cora: Uncle Colin and Aunt Charlotte arent mad at you. They understand it was and accident.

I pull you in closer to me trying to reassure you

Cora: Maybe if you explain what happened then they can really know it was an accident. Or tell me and I can tell Uncle Colin and Aunt Charlotte.

Kristyn tugged on Cora's shirt until she bent down to Kristyn's level. "I was going potty, and when I came out of the bathroom she was standing right by the door and I bumped into her," she whispered.

[Shy-Diapers]

I just nod at first.

Cora: she was going potty and when she came out of the bathroom Evie was right by the door and Kristin accidentally bumped into her.

I look at Kristin to see if she's going to say more or not but I nonetheless continue to rub her back soothingly

"I...I'm sorry Uncle Colin," Kristyn said in a small voice. "I didn't mean to hurt Evie."

[Shy-Diapers]

I stand there a little amazed at first that was the first full sentance she's spoken to somebody besides me.

Cora: Kristin! That was a full sentance! And you said it to me /and/ uncle Colin!

I say happily hugging my sister tight but not hurting her being so happy and proud.

Colin smiled, pleased with how far Kristyn had come over the last few days. "Don't worry, honey, she's just a little cranky right now. I'm sure she's just fine," he said, then turned to Cora. "Can you keep an eye on her for a little while? I just have a little more work to finish up."

[Shy-Diapers]

I just nod

Cora: Kristin? Does this mean you're talking again?

I ask excitedly hoping its a yes

Cora: at least at home?

I am trying to hold back any squeals from coming out as im so happy for Kristin "things are finally going our way" I think to myself. First I get to be in the fifth grade band and now Kristin is speaking more.

"Um...yeah...I guess so," Kristyn said a bit uncertainly.

[Shy-Diapers]

I just smile and hug Kristin close. Feeling truely happy for the first time since the car crash.

Cora: do you wanna go watch a movie or play?

I ask wanting to celebrate

[justagirl4fun]

"Yeah, let's play a game. There's a bunch of games upstairs in the playroom."

[Shy-Diapers]

Cora: okay I'll let you pick

I say as I follow Kristin uostairs

Cora: here you pick a game while I go put away my saxophone

I say before running to my room and properly putting away my sax and taking off my neckstrap before returning

Cora: did you decide?

"Yeah, let's play this," Kristyn said, pulling Connect Four off the shelf. She sat on the floor and started setting it up. "Good thing Abbie has to stay in her room. She'd probably get mad at us for using it."

[Shy-Diapers]

I giggle a little at her comment

Cora: can I be red?

I ask sorting out the chips

Cora: you can go first

[justagirl4fun]

"Sure." Kristyn took one of the black chips and dropped it in a slot. "That's why she hurt me yesterday, 'cause I was playing with her toys."

[Shy-Diapers]

Cora: im sorry Kristin

I say as I drop mine next to yours into the corner

Cora: im sorry I never stood up for you when she was around

I sigh feeling bad

Cora: I was afraid of what she would do but I did tell uncle Colin about it every time im glad to have you back to talking I missed your voice

[justagirl4fun]

"It's okay. She probably would have hurt you, too," Kristyn said, dropping her second chip on top of her first. "I don't like her."

[Shy-Diapers]

Cora: I think she is still getting used to us

I say as I drop my chip above Kristins first one

Cora: she is used to being the oldest and getting most of the attention she'll come around eventually

I say with a small sigh

Cora: at least I hope so

I say quietly

"Yeah, maybe." Kristyn frowned when Cora dropped a chip on top of hers, then dropped one next to her first.

[Shy-Diapers]

I place my next ship on the opposite end trying to strategize

Cora: you're good at this game

I say with a chuckle

Cora: I miss having fun with you like this

(Im gonna go to bed for the night im exhausted the movie had us laughing then crying then happy and it took allot out of me im glad I went thiugh )
