Baby Brian Posted July 25, 2014 Share Posted July 25, 2014 Yeah, hand wash with mild soap or detergent and hang to dry is the best method for any type of diaper cover. Using powder with rubber pants has always been a necessity for me too. Try and get some plain baby powder or corn starch. Some powders have additives that can deteriorate the rubber faster. Bettypooh Posted July 25, 2014 Share Posted July 25, 2014 Dust well with plain talcum powder (unscented baby powder) before storage to prevent the rubber from sticking to itself. Don't use corn starch- this and all starches can feed bacteria and fungi which will create odor at best and can make you mighty sick on the other end of things Haven't heard of problems with scented baby powder so I'd consider it safe. Substitute the elastic from an old pair of underwear for the thin stuff Link to comment
