I'm Not entirely sure thats the cause, While dial up is slower, it shouldn't prevent you from chatting.

I would think that your computer needs updated with specific software or Plug-ins, or possibly your still in the Validating Mode of registration to this site. Help us to help you and tell us what warning messages are being displayed by your computer when you try to log on to the chat engine.
