PaddedPat Posted August 3, 2013 Share Posted August 3, 2013 It doesn't have to be "massive", IMO; it just needs to bring in enough revenue to be self-sufficient. Again: I picture the size of a Dave & Buster's or Chuck E Cheez's -- i.e., large restaurant footprint. That's large enough to provide several attractions, but small enough not to require complicated zoning, a litany of permits, and an army of staff to operate. It's also considerably less risk for outside investors to fund a prototype "quasi-restaurant" than a multi-acre, outdoor theme park ala Disneyland or Six Flags. There's oodles of storefronts and defunct buildings that would fit the bill all across the country, and it would be MUCH easier to franchise if you could simply cut-n-paste floor plans from one location to the next.
