bwakee
I figured this was the most appropriate place to put this post, but feel free to move if I'm a total idiot. Link to comment
Little BabyDoll Christine
You want an awful lot for free> Good Luck! I can get you low-cost, adult-friendly webhosting http://www.exmasters.com/ I know of no free webhosting save ad-supported; and some of those ads are pornographic and you have no control over that. Also, the "free [ad supported]" hosting has restrictions such as no hot-linking then you willneed to register a domain. We use http://register.com Many sites provide WYSIWIG editors, most of which are abysmal. For me it is easier to learn the code than to learn how to use a visual or pre-formatting editor and hand coding gives me the control I want. Besides which, it is not hard as there are about 15 or 20 basic "statements" or "tags" that you can learn how to use by doing. We use notepad/ The best I can offer you is our FairyWand package (To be editit) http://sandralyn.net/agpak.html This is free software that we have used or tried. The package is about 3 years old and most have updated, but these will at leat get you started. It is large, over 120 MB. We well probably re-organize FairyWand to links to the relevant sites. READ THE NOTE TO Win7 USERS!! and since this package was put togoeter. We can no longer recommend DVDVideosoft because they put things on your machine that are not trustworthy with no refusal option That as of 2012 and will be dropped from the New FairyWand If you wish to conduct your own freeware searches, try this http://www.techsupportalert.com/ As far as some of the more advanced thing you want, you may need to know things lik MySQL, CGI and things I do not even know such ss how to write streaming video or pay well to have them done for you There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch I can recall no technological complaints about RUFFLES & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME: only esthetic and "professionalism" ones http://sandralyn.net/years.html For an overall look: try WHIR http://www.thewhir.com/web-hosting-news They do get into Adutl webhosting matters Link to comment
Codymoogle
5. I'm not sure which age group I should "officially" allow on the website (i.e. "Only people 13+ may enter this website!", "Click here to enter if you are over 18!", etc.). I know that I really can't prevent anyone from accessing it, but at least I can be official about it. I know that I don't want kids younger than 13 getting on there just because they are really just too young to use rational thought sometimes (no offense if any of you are under 13... which, none of you should be anyway, right? ). I know from personal experience that teenagers tend to have the same problems (again, no offense), but at least they're not as irrational. Plus, many of us (as far as I know) started getting involved with diapers, etc. as teenagers. I know I did. Should I just restrict it to 18+ (even though that negates the point of providing to beginner infantilists)? Or should I not even mention age? Link to comment
bwakee
- If it was MY website, I'd make it 18+. Minors have the talent of ignoring all the "18+ ONLY" warnings, anyway, so they'll see your site regardless of if you invite them in or not. However, inviting them in, even if it's a G/PG website, doesn't look right to the "outside world". (Basically, cover your own ass here...Even though WE know we are NOT pedophiles, the "outside world" likes to assume liking diapers automatically equals liking children. As much as that's NOT true, assumptions are made VERY quickly, and inviting minors in looks bad.) Link to comment

Little BabyDoll Christine
wSmasters will not let you use their free hosting for adult sites We have been there now for about 3 years. They do not have any real includes: It is just barebones and teiir ftp uploader is not that good so I duggest FileZilla or better yet FireFTP to upload (it handls larger files, up to 130+ MB), but their Help is pretty good and they talk to you. I do not quite know how the mail service works. We would like to be able to distribute addresses with [yourname]@sandrylyn.net and be able to set aside fixed amount of disk space and bandwidth for users like Sissykiss does but using a regular webmail lik Yahoo or one that your ISP may have since you go right to their site so your browser security can kick in and they offer chat and connect (lile lFriends). but [yourname]@sandralyn.net could have some vanity value and you could use any of a number of IM's I do not know how effective a "chip-in" arrangement is. Dave Ramsey has said "the only ship that won't sail is a partnership" due to personality variables in the participants. Also as much as we would like to use social networking software, the price is prohibitive for all be subscription or externally supported (ad) sites or if the site owner is independently wealthy and also can count on persons to be mods and admins Adutl-friendly services prices are through the roof since they are geared towared money-making, busienss sites Link to comment
