This is bullshit. With so many outside factors, how can a responsible scientist or even journalist for that matter claim that the two are related. That's like saying that people who are teased school are x% more likely to develop eye problems and have to wear glasses. *rolls eyes*

Comparing two variables and determining how strongly they're related is pretty simple math.

That said I don't think this is the definitive answer for 'why'. I never used a pacifier, even as a baby. And I don't think I'm emotionally stunted either.
