Victorian_Manny
Does anyone else remember the Baby Scott two part diapering system from the 1970s? It was a snap-on plastic panty with a 'T tab' in the front to hold a separate paper (disposable) diaper. The panty was washed, the diaper was thrown out. I remember the ads describing how easy it was to double diaper. I used these on a toddler that I babysat and was just wondering if anyone else remembered them. It's interesting that, 40 years later, gDiapers reintroduced the 'hybrid' diaper. Link to comment
redneck diaper boy
Yes I remember them because I wore something like them when I was a teenager. I use to wear Salk Pants that had a washable liner but pants had snaps up the side. Does anyone else remember the Baby Scott two part diapering system from the 1970s? Nappycouple
I remember Baby Scott pants were very smooth & soft, came in a prints or white plastic. I used to be able to squeezs into a size ex-large. Too bad they do not re-introduce today for the adult market. Bob Link to comment
wetbear_nb
yup. Remember them well. The covers came in gingham prints and white. Link to comment
Toddler Pampers
I remember them, but never bought any. I always bought either Pampers or Johnson & Johnson (don't think they had a name, like Huggies). Does anyone remember Julliet Mills from Nanny and the Professor selling J&J diapers? This was beginning in 1977, exactly 33 years ago this month, in fact. I also usually bought a pair of Gerber pull on plastic pants when I bought a box of (toddler size) diapers. They came one pair to a box. I'm still wearing old-fashioned Pampers and Gerber pull on pants after all these years, too. They still really make me feel like a baby. Link to comment
Victorian_Manny
I remember the gingham panties too. The only colour I remember was orange and white. I found this video today. It starts around 5:30... Link to comment

It starts around 5:30... You beat me to it. There are lots of old diaper commercials on YouTube. Thanks, whoever! I'd never seen this one until I tried finding one for Baby Scott just now. Nice and long, one whole minute. Although I never bought BS, I did very much like the idea of wearing plastic pants, even over a disposable like Pampers that didn't need them. The box (Gerber) even said they could be worn over either cloth or disposable. Today, pull on plastic pants are pretty much exclusively marketed and thought of by moms as going over underwear during potty training. They really don't have the essential job they used to; they're a 'just in case' item now. Link to comment
