Looking For Some Input On This.

For the last couple of months, I have had some minor bowel incontinence problems. Essentially, stool was (and still is) seeping out of my rear end several times a day most days. In terms of how incontinence works, I know it can be a lot worse than this - but still the whole idea of going through with it and not having a clue about what as causing it did more than just a little to freak me out.

I saw a doctor a few days ago. He told me that I was burning far more calories than what I was taking in, which put my digestive and bowel systems into complete disarray. That, and the fact that I would drink a fifth of bourbon every Saturday night, was his explanation of why this was happening to me. It's not the end-all, be-all explanation, though - he still told me to get it checked out by a specialist.

In a way, his words do make sense. This problem did start not long after I started working out twice a day, and the seepage always seems to be at its worst when I am really burning the calories and getting all sweaty. I did manage to burn off more than 20 lbs in a little under two months - which, according to the doctor, was a bit on the excessive side. As far as the drinking goes, well, I am not really sure how that fits into the picture, but the doctor's orders are to give it up - so I am giving it up.

The problem is slowly getting better, though, now that I have added a lot more protein and complex carbs to my diet. I didn't expect it go away overnight, and I still am going to see a specialist to make sure it is not a sign of something more serious, but the fact that the problem seems to be getting better after making several changes in how, what and when I eat really comes as a bit of a relief to me.

In any case, I hope this is the right place to post about this problem. I never thought I would say this, but I am actually looking forward to the day when I can wear tightie-whities again and not have to worry about having to throw them away half an hour after I put them on.

I was wondering if anybody else here had any input on this, though?
