babykeiff
"Bambino" is an Italian word, which from what I've seen is used for both infants/babies and toddlers. Just watch movies like mafia/mob stuff where the head Boss is Italian, and says things like "bring the Bambinos" when talking about kids... Italian Lesson maschio bambino / bambino.............little boy lit. child male femmina bambino / bambina............little girl lit. child female. bambo...............................................child non gender specific bambini.............................................children plural of bambino, male OR male and/or female children bambinia...........................................children female plural of bambina baby femminile…………..................female baby lit. baby female baby maschile…………....................male baby lit. baby male baby……………………...................baby non gender specific, but uses the male derivative neonato di sesso maschile..............…male infant lit. infant of sex male neonato di sesso femminile................female infant lit. infant of sex female neonato ……………………..............infant non gender specific, but can refer to male or female. neonata……………………...............infant female 'bambinos' does not exist within the Italian language. It is an American-English word coined by advertising to suggest Italian decent or influence. 'bambini' / 'bambinia' is the plural of 'bambino'. Many words in Italian are either male or gender specific, including the word 'the' - 'il' gender neutral 'la' female 'le' male. This 'gender specific' terminology within many Europen languages is one of the stumbling bloocks for natural English speakers to learn said language. However, on the reverse side, English has many words for the same/similar meaning. It also repeats words (by pronounciation but differently spelt - psion / sign (as a display item) / sign (to offer ones signature) / sign (to indicate via gestures)) for different meanings.
