While I was reading it, it got me thinking of what Jung said about the difference between the free- flowing "irrationality"of mythical thought and the "rationality" of instrumental, focused thought. And another thing; the similiarities he discovered between the imagination of children and the mentally-ill; they tend to think in the same fantastical manner, the same symbols appearing in their dreams etc. Who knows, maybe an aspect of mental illness is in one way a paradise regained?
