"A midget is a person that because of genetics can't grow past three feet or so. I guess they call them little people now. If you would like, I can go on the computer later and look it up for you, and show you a picture of one. Did you ever see the movie "the Wizard of Oz"? The little people in that were midgets."

"you can adopt children, like I did with you and your sister's. I meant that a woman doesn't have to go through childbirth to become a mother. You do know how mommies and daddy's make babies, don't you Bonnie?"

"Thank you. I am glad that I don't have to take the girls out of the hospital tonight. Actually, there is a cute little girl behind that wall over there. Her name is Dinah and she is deaf. Would it be alright if I take four girls in and then three of them?"

Bonnie nods. "Oh so I was correct when I called the 7 of us dwarves? We are all little people. Yes I saw the movie I think. I thought they were munchkins Mommy?" She shakes her head. "No Mommy I don't. Don't mommies and Daddies go to a cabbage patch and get one from the Stork? She shows them around the patch and they pick the one they want. The stork cut the baby from stem of the cabbage leaf and wrapped it up in a blanket. Depends on whether the stork cut the stem decides where the baby is a boy or a girl. Boys have long stems and girls are cut closer so there isn't a stem?"

The nurse's assistant nods. "Oh I didn't know where was one behind that wall. I just thought the last children in there didn't put the blocks back up. If she is deaf. How do you talk to her? Does talking loud to her make it easier for her to hear you?" She shrugs. "I guess it would be ok. Who are you going to get to watch the other three?"

Link to comment

Tracy sighs. "No you are not dwarves, just little girls. The reason you are so short is that they gave you drugs to turn you into permanent babies. Real dwarves and midgets are that way from birth. Something in their genes affect their growth. Yes, the characters were called Munchkins, but the real people who played them were midgets. That's not how daddie's and mommie's get babies, Bonnie. I will explain it some other time. It's a little,um, complicated to go into right now."

Tracy rolls her eyes. "We use sign language, or just talk normally in front of her so she can see our lips. Yelling will not help, since she can't hear anything. I would think it would be like if we were talking and you were yelling at me. I wouldn't like it, and I don't think Dinah would either."

"I don't know who to get to watch the girls who aren't in the room with me. Bonnie is my niece and she is fourteen. I think she is capable of watching the younger ones, but she will be with me part of the time. What is your suggestion?"

Link to comment

Bonnie nods. Oh I see. Will we ever grow up or will we look like toddler and preschoolers all our lives? What is complicated about it?"

The nurse's assistant nods. "Oh I see. So you know sign language. I don't think I could handle having a special needs child. It is too much work and you don't get anything out of it." She shrugs. "I don't have any suggestions. I would look after them, but I don't like little kids. They are whiny and annoying. I work in the wing with the older kids. I just came to deliver the message since the call was misdirected to the teenager wing. You're joking about her being 14 right? She doesn't look any older than 3 and a half or 4 years old. Certainly not 14.

(good answer that Tracy gave the Nurse's assistant.)

Link to comment

"Only time will tell if you will grow, Bonnie. I will tell you later why it's so complicated."

"Bonnie and Dinah are teaching me sign language. yes, it takes a special person to raise a special needs child. Well, thank you for giving me the message. I am sure the older children appreciate the care you give them."

"Girls, may I have your attention, please? We are going down to the second floor and then over to the adult wing of this hospital. We are going to see Jayme. She is awake and has asked to see all of you. I will only be able to take a few of you in at a time, and we can't stay long. Bonnie, could you please go get Dinah and explain where we are going?"

Link to comment

Bonnie nods. "Ok you can tell me later. I want to know since you told me what Mommy and Daddy told me about where babies come from is wrong."

The nurse's assistant nods. Yes the older children do appreciate the care I give them." She was sure Tracy meant it sarcasticly, but she didn't care. The sooner she got away from the girls the better. The Nurse's assistant walks out of the room and down the hall. She takes out her phone and calls someone. "Yes they are all here. Things are going good. No Bonnie's aunt doesn't suspect anything." The nurse's assistant closes her phone and walks back to the older children's wing.

The girls cheer. Hannah looks at Tracy. "If you can't take all of us at once. Who is going to stay here and keep an eye on us? I'm sure the director of the home isn't going to give us up so easily."

Bonnie nods and skips over to where Dinah is hiding and signs to her. Dinah signs back. Bonnie turns and looks at Tracy. "Mommy, Dinah said she wasn't want to go see Jayme because she might still be upset with her because of this morning. Mommy, the reason Dinah thinks Jayme might still be upset with her is because this morning. Dinah kicked a girl in the shin and bit her because the older girl was picking on her and poured a glass of milk over her head. If Dinah doesn't want to go. I'll stay with her and you can take Hannah and the other girls to see Jayme. You can ask her what she meant about Molly holding the key."

Tracy smiles and waves as the nurse's aid walks out of the room. "Don't let the door hit you in the butt," Tracy thinks to herself.

Tracy looks at Hannah," I was planning on bringing all of you over to the adult wing at the same time, then four of you can go in and see Jayme for a few minutes, and then the other three after that. The only problem I have is finding someone to stay with the girls that will be out in the hall. I don't want to leave you alone. I agree with you that the director probably won't give up so easily."

"Bonnie, we are all going over to see Jayme. I don't think Jayme is even going to remember what happened this morning. She will just be happy to see all of you. Let me think for a minute."

Tracy thinks hard for a minute and the only thing she can come up with is to talk to the women standing guard outside the girls room.

"Let's go girls. We need to go back to your room for a minute, and then we can get going to see Jayme."

Link to comment

Hannah nods. "That seems like a good idea. Then we would all be together on the same floor and area. What about that nurse that was just in here. Maybe she would watch us while you took four of us in to see Jayme."

Bonnie nods. "I'm sure you are right, but the last time she saw Jayme. Jayme was upset with her over the way she asked. Jayme told her that ladies do not bite and kick other people even if they deserve it." She turns to Dinah and signs at her. Dinah shakes her head no. "Mommy, I told her you said everyone was going and she shook her head no. Arguing with her is like arguing with a brickwall." Bonnie points at the blocks Dinah used to build her wall. It looked like bricks. Everyone walks to the door except for Dinah. She stays behind her wall and peers around the side at Tracy.

"That nurse doesn't like little children. I wouldn't trust her with my pet cat, if I had one."

Listen's to Bonnie and sighs.

"If Dinah doesn't come with us, she will have to go back to the hospital room. At least there she will be protected."

Link to comment

Hannah nods. "Oh I see. The adults at the home didn't like us either. I think that is why they made us babies and then shipped us off to the Zebra Ranch. Mommy, do you know what happened to the girls after they went to the ranch? I heard they was sold into slavery. What does that mean?"

Bonnie signed to Dinah. The two of them signed back and forth. "I've tried talking to her. She will not listen. She wants to stay here. She said she is safe behind the wall. She has always been behind a wall to protect herself from getting hurt. What does that mean? This is the first time I've ever seen her behind a wall of any kind. She also said she doesn't want to go back to the room alone. It is scary in here being locked up like an animal."

Link to comment

Tracy listens to Hannah. "hmm, Slavery is when you are forced to do something against your will, like work somewhere. No one knows what happened to the girls that were taken to the ranch."

Tracy frowns. "People put up walls when they have been through something like Dinah has and doesn't want to deal with the world. They usually have to go to a psychiatrist to get rid of their walls. I doubt it would help Dinah, though. At least not without finding a psychiatrist that deals with handicaps."

Tracy steps outside the playroom and motions for one of the guards to come over to her. The woman comes over to the playroom door.

"I have a couple of problems and they both deal with the girls and keeping them safe. First of all, Jayme is awake and asking to see the girls. We want to go over to her room, but can only bring three or four of the girls in at a time. I will need someone to watch the girls that can't come in the room."

"Also, one of the girls, Dinah, is refusing to come with us. She is afraid Jayme will be mad at her still. She wants to stay in the playroom, hiding behind a wall."

"Do you think you can arrange for an escort and baby sitter for us when we go over to see Jayme, plus put a guard on the playroom door so that Dinah can stay where she is and still be safe?"

The guard takes out her cellphone and makes a call. When she is finished she looks at Tracy and smiles.

"They are sending up an agent dressed as a nurse. She will accompany you to Jayme's room. I will stay here and guard the playroom."

"Thank you." Tracy replies.

Tracy steps back into the playroom.

"Okay, a nurse is coming up to walk us over to Jayme's room. She should be here in a couple of minutes."

"Bonnie, tell Dinah she can stay here. Tell here you and I will come back and get her when we are done. This is just for your information, I don't want you to tell Dinah, but there will be a guard at the door to the playroom while we are gone."

(This is the best solution I could come up with for Dinah, and keeping the girls safe. )

Hannah nods. "Oh I understand. I hope they can find the girls. Alot of them were friends of mine. I learned very quickly not to form any friendship, because they would probably be gone soon and I would never see them again."

Bonnie looks at Tracy with a mad look on her face. "Mommy, that was a really mean thing to say about Dinah. Just because she can't hear doesn't make her handicapped. Most of us in this room can't read or write. Does that make us handicapped too." She stomps away from Tracy. Bonnie goes over to where Dinah is at and tells her what Tracy said about her being able to stay in the playroom. She leaves out the part where Tracy called Dinah handicapped. Bonnie didn't think Dinah need to know that.

Hannah looks at Tracy. "Who is going to see Jayme first and who is going to wait for the second round?"

Bonnie walks over to where Hannah was standing. She gives Tracy a look and then looks at the other girls. "Sisters line up. The 5 girls line up. Hannah, you and Emily are with me. We will go in first. April, Gina and Mary. You three with go in when we come out." She looks at Dinah who was looking at her. Bonnie signed to Dinah. Are you sure you don't want to go? I'm sure Jayme will not be mad at you. You know she doesn't stay mad long. Dinah signs back. I'm sure. All the girls line up single file behind Tracy. "The baby train is ready with you are. Aunt Tracy."

"I hope they can find the girls as well."

Listens to Bonnie and blushes. "I'm sorry Bonnie. Would you rather I use a term like hearing impaired or something like that? I didn't mean to offend either you or Dinah."

Listens to Bonnie take charge and tell the girls who goes in to see Jayme first and nods."Thank you Bonnie. I would never have been able to decide who goes in when."

A nurse arrives at the playroom and smiles at Tracy.

"Is this the group going over to the adult section to see a patient?" She says.

"Yes it is," Tracy replies," Okay girls, let's go."

(I'm sorry if I offended you with the term handicapped. I seem to say the wrong thing a lot)

Link to comment

Bonnie nods. "Yes I would prefer you used the term hearing impaired. It sounds better than she is handicapped. I didn't mean to get mad at you,but I hate when people put my friends down. Just because Dinah can't hear you say that. Doesn't mean I can't hear you call her that. You are welcome. April,Gina and Mary don't like going to see the doctor. So I put them last so they can watch the nurses going up and down the hall and become comfortable with the idea of going into the room without getting scared. There isn't enough Molly to go around for the three of them." Tracy leads the girls out and the girls start chugging like a train as they go down the hall. They start giggling as they toot like a train.

(You didn't offend me. I don't like the term handicapped, but I'm use to it. I've been called far worse things than handicapped.)

Tracy gets at the back of the line, smiling at the girls. The nurse leads them to the elevator and down to the second floor. They cross over to the the adult section and take the elevator up to the fourth floor. Tracy looks at the numbers on the doors as they pass. Finally the nurse stops in front of one of the rooms. Tracy sees the number 412 on the door. April, Gina and Mary sit down in chairs across from the room with the nurse staying standing next to them.

Tracy opens the door and looks inside. She sees a woman sitting up in bed. Tracy leads Hannah, Emily and Bonnie over near the bed, but stops about a foot from the bed.

"Hello?" Tracy calls out tentatively.

Link to comment

Jayme looks up from the newspaper she was looking at. "Hello. You can come closer. I don't bite." She laughs a little and Bonnie,Hannah and Emily laugh too. "I might nibble on little girl's body parts, but I don't bite do I girls?"

Bonnie,Hannah and Emily answer in unison. "No Miss Jayme."

Jayme looks at Tracy. "You must be Bonnie's aunt. I saw you at the home when you came to pick her up to adopt her. I'm glad you got her out of there. Hopefully the home will be shut down and the sick SOBs that run and work there will soon be behind bars for a very long time."

Bonnie sets forward. "Miss Jayme. I have a question. The ladies at the office of the Department of Child and Family services said when you was rescused and brought here. You was saying something about Molly having a key. What did you mean?"

Jayme smiles. I'll show you. Let me see Molly." Bonnie hands Molly to Jayme. She opened the zippered backpack on Molly and reached inside. "It's not there. I know I put it in there before you left. There was some very, very important information in there. Now it is gone. I set up the wheels in motion to get the information out. I found out the 7 of you was going to be shipped out in a week to go to the Zebra Ranch. As I was going though the files. I found out you had an aunt. I called her and told her that her niece was in a children's home and that she should come and get her. I downloaded all the information off the computer and put it on a DVD. I put the DVD into Molly's backpack when I told you I was going to take Molly to the bathroom and give her a sprucing up. I also called the Department of Child and Family services and told a Linda Hunt that one of the girls was being adopted today and that she might be able to help them with their case. Now was for nothing. The DVD is gone. Along with it all the files that would get the home shut down for good and the people where arrested." She closed her eyes and takes a few deep breaths. Jayme opens her eyes and looks at Tracy. "Is my little hearing impaired angel here? I want to talk to her."

Link to comment

"Yes, I am Bonnie's aunt. Bonnie gave me the DVD and I put it in my purse for safe keeping. I plan on giving it to Linda in the morning. The information is not lost. I am glad to meet you. Bonnie and the girls have told me so much about you. You look a lot better than I thought you would. Wait, that doesn't sound right. I mean I expected you to be in worse shape after being abducted. I see you are having problems breathing."

"Dinah wouldn't come with the rest of the girls. She is in the playroom in the children's wing of this hospital. She is afraid you are still mad at her. Ask Bonnie. She has been my little translator. I don't know sign language yet, but plan on learning it."

Jayme nods. "Well keep that DVD very safe. There are people out there who will want the DVD back if they find out what is on it. Along with every file in he computers, there is alot alot of pictures of all the abuse at the home from the PB girls to the Cow Girls. Pictures of all the rooms they use to do different things to the girls." She laughs. "I know what you mean. You expected to see me with tubes going in and out of my body. Me barely clinging to life. If those agents hadn't found me when they did. I would have been in alot worse shape. The one in the back was about to inject me with a very powerful drug to wipe my memory out and leave me in a baby like state. Instead when the driver hit the ditch. She injected herself with the drug." She nods. "Yes I am,but that isn't the only problem I'm having." Jayme pulled back the cover and showed Tracy her diapered conditon. She looks at Bonnie. "Why does Dinah think I'm mad at her?"

Bonnie looks at Jayme. "Because of what she did this morning. When the older girl was picking on her and then poured the milk over the top of Dinah's head."

Jayme nods. "Oh I remember now. I wasn't mad at her. I was disappointed in her for doing it. Biting and kicking is not the answer to being picked on. Though the girl did deserve it and the home would not have punished her for it."

Link to comment

"I'll keep the DVD with me at all times until I hand it over. No one knows I have it in my purse except for Bonnie and now you. Yes, that's basically the report I got on you. You were in bad shape when you were brought into the hospital."

"Girls, How about we let April, Gina and Mary come in and see Jayme for a few minutes?"

Link to comment

Jayme nods. "That's good. The fewer that know the better. Yes I was in very bad shape. The doctor said there is a big chance that I'll be in diapers for the rest of my life." She looks out the window. "I don't know what I'm going to do now. I'm out of a job. I don't have anyone to look after anymore. The girls have you. You are getting a great bunch of girls. They was pretty much well behaved." The girls groan at what Tracy says." Jayme turns to face the girls. "Come on ladies. You have to be fair.April,Gina and Mary want to come in and see me."

Link to comment

"I'm sorry to hear that you will probably be in diapers from now on. Have you ever considered becoming a nanny? I hear their is a position open for seven cute little girls that has a mother that doesn't know what she is doing. If you would like, I can give you her cell phone number and you can call her as soon as you get out of the hospital."

"I'm sorry girls. I wish I could let you spend hours with Jayme. The hospital has rules though. Now let's go."

Tracy leads the girls out into the hall. The nurse is walking around next to the chairs that the girls are sitting in. April, Gina and Mary get up and Follow Tracy into the hospital room.

Link to comment

Jayme nods. "Thanks. I don't like the idea either." She shakes her head. "No I had never thought if it. What seven 7 and their mom would need a nanny to help her out?" Jayme knew the answer to the question. April,Gina and Mary walk into the room and looks around. They stop at the foot of the bed and looks at Jayme. Hello Ladies. How are the three of you?"

April smiles a little. "We're good."

Jayme smiles. "Are the three of you behaving for Tracy?" They nodded yes. "Are you afraid to talk to me?" The girls shakes her head. "Are you afraid of being in the hospital?" The girls nodded yes. Jayme looks at Tracy. "This is unusual for them. They usually talk more than this. While it isn't alot. They do talk more than this. When you take the girls back to their room. Could you send Dinah to come see me. I want to talk to her. You might have to carry her to get her to come to see me."

Bonnie looks up and down the hall. She notices a water fountain at the end of the hall. When the nurse was looking the other way. Bonnie slipped away and went to get some water.

Dinah looks out as Bonnie and the others leave. She comes out from behind the wall she built and went over to the dollhouse. Dinah set down in front of it and started playing. She didn't notice the door opening and some kids coming into the playroom along with a nurse. A girl comes over to where Dinah was playing. "Can I play too?" The girl got closer. "Can I play with you please?" The girl gets right behind her and yells. "Are you deaf or something. It is rude to ignore someone when they are talking to you.

The nurse came over. "Young lady it is polite to answer someone when they are talking to you." She touches Dinah's arm and Dinah jumps. Dinah tried to scream and nothing, but a squeak came out. She ran back to behind her wall. Dinah tripped over her foot and fell down on the floor. Her hospital gown came up and everyone could see her pink diaper that was very wet and messy."

The guard came back around the corner and heard talking inside the playroom. She looked in and saw a bunch of kids and a nurse in there. The guard walked in and asked the nurse what was going on in here. The nurse told the guard that she brought some of the children from her group of rooms to play for a little while and when they got there. There was already another girl in there and she was being rude to one of the girls by ignoring her. The guard shook her head. "She wasn't ingoring the girl. She couldn't hear the girl because she is deaf." The nurse nodded and set down in one of the chairs to watch her kids playing. The guard set down by the door and kept an eye on Dinah.

Tracy smiles at Jayme. "I mean it. Give me a call the minute you are released. I don't think I could manage all of these girls myself."

Tracy brings the three girls into the room and stands off to the side as Jayme talks to them. She notices the girls are nervous.

"They haven't talked around me, so I don't really notice how much they talk. I hope that once I get them out of the hospital they will learn to trust me more and talk to me more as well."

"That's asking a lot. Dinah definitely doesn't trust me. I guess I can carry her if necessary, but she is going to be put up a struggle. I'll make sure she knows you said no if's, and's or but's."

Tracy lets April, Gina and Mary stay for a few more minutes then decides that it was time to leave.

"Okay, time to get going. They said we could only stay for a few minutes," Tracy said, coming over to the girls.

"I'll be back shortly with Dinah, hopefully."

Tracy led the giirls back into the hall and saw there was only two girls sitting there. Bonnie was not in her seat and the nurse seemed lost in thought.

"Where's Bonnie?" Tracy asked.

The nurse looked over at the chairs and got a frightened look on her face.

"Oh my god! How did she get away? I've been here the whole time?" The nurse cried out.

Tracy looks up and down the hallway and finally spots Bonnie at the water cooler.

"There she is," Tracy said.

Jayme smiles. "I don't see why not. I did when the girls was under my control at the home. I'll give it some thought. I have never thought being a nanny to anyone." She nods. "I hope so too. These girls have been though alot. Bonnie and Hannah are the only ones who talk alot. Emily,April,Gina and Mary don't talk much. Dinah doesn't talk at all. She uses sign language to talk and as you have found out a little bit. Dinah is tempermental and hard headed if she doesn't want to do something. She doesn't trust alot of people. It took me forever to gain her trust. Dinah had built a wall around herself to insulate herself from being hurt again after what her mother did to her and her mother's boyfriend made her mother do with her.

Bonnie comes skipping down the hall towards there Hannah and Emily was setting. She stopped in her tracks when she sees Tracy standing there. "Hello mommy. Did you.April,Gina and Mary have a good talk with Jayme?"

Link to comment

"How long have you been taking care of children though? I am a single person with no babysitting experience to speak of. Well, if you don't take the job I will have to find someone. It would be better if it was someone they know and trust."

Tracy glares at Bonnie as she comes back over to the chairs."Young lady, what do you think you are doing? That's twice today you've gone off on your own without telling anyone? Didn't you realize I would be worried about you?"

Tracy keeps frowning as she gets the girls to line up and start back to the children's wing. The nurse breathes a sigh of relief when saw Bonnie come back to the chairs. She leads the group back to the playroom.

"Jayme wants to see Dinah. I am supposed to take her over there, no matter what. Bonnie would you mind telling her that Jayme said that she wanted to see her, and won't take no for an answer?"
