I woke up on my own, my eyes still warm with tears and feeling a little shaky from last night. I was still tired, but I knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. All I could do was whimper aloud like a lost puppy (It had all been so much). Emily stirred a minute later - I hadn’t known she was in the crib with me again, and I felt a little worse for having woken her.
