Hey, I'll Put That On My Curriculum Vitae!

In a bold attempt to put a positive spin on our fetish I would like to know, have any of you acquired a skill as a result of your fetish that you may not have acquired otherwise?

This sounds like a funny question, but for instance, I taught myself to sew and convert clothing, because in the old days I didn't know where I could buy what I needed. The most obvious one would be diaper changing. As a group, we are probably the most experienced body of diaper changers on the planet. Even a woman with 6 kids won't change as many diapers in a lifetime as most of us!!

So what skills have you acquired? This could be a physical skill, mental skill, or just a different outlook on life!!

PS, It must be as a result of your fetish. So not "I have a degree in Accountancy."

I've definitely gained a different outlook on life, but not something that's worth putting it on a resume. I commit a social suicide everyday, and as a result, I've been forced to deal with who I am and how I live my life.

Well, I dunno about that--I don't usually wear 24/7, so my total diaper number isn't that high--but I definitely do have a lot of relevant experience in that department.

When my wife was pregnant with our son, we took all the childbirth and baby-care classes for first-time parents, and I remember one evening when the teacher brought out some baby dolls and cloth diapers. "Now, how would you go about folding these?" she asked. I picked one of them up and whipped out a quick kite-fold, and she was astonished--I gather she hadn't seen that variant before. "How would you pin that?" I showed her. "That's very good, show it to me again!" I asked her how she would've folded it, and she did a simple butterfly fold, but I noted that it would tend to pull apart if the baby was moving around much, and showed her a pleat-folded alternative that would work better, and then she looked at me and asked me just where did I learn so much about folding diapers?

I probably turned beet-red. "Um. You know... used to do a lot of babysitting."

Clever discussion!! :P

While there's nothing I would seriously put on my CV based on diapers, it has given me some interesting skills. Here's a small list of skills that I am now more proficient in thanks to diapers. If I think of any more, I'll add them:

1. Adhesives - Masking tape, duct tape, velcro, you name it' I've tried it!

2. Online shopping - Thanks to diapers, I know what to look for and who to trust when it comes to online shopping

3. Incontinence - Even though I'm not incontinent, you can't help learning about it when you enjoy this lifestyle.

4. Internet law (pornography) - Although WE know that the fetish has absolutely nothing to do pedophilia, we have to be very careful about making sure it's not misconstrued in the eyes of the public. For this reason, I only support sites that are working with the law and not around it.

5. Alternative lifestyles - Not a specific skill per se, but I can empathize with other people who make different lifestyle choices, regardless of what those choices are.

6. Changing a diaper in silence & in pitch black -This is a completely useless skill, but I did it numerous times when I shared a bedroom with my brother.

hmm... well..

actually nothing.

Ok - diapering of course ... it's more difficult on adults than with children... but that's about the only skill acquired or improved through my diaper-wearing...

I had very extensive medical first aid and small-scale-dirty-need-to-be-done-immediatly emergency-OP training during my military time.

I have been very very glad and thankful for that during and after my mil. time. has saved my life and the life of others... and makes going to a doctor for 90% of things (unless it's darn serious) pretty much not-required. Saves me some cash and makes me feel good...

There wasn't much medical things I could have picked up just by wearing diapers or so ...

I guess if someone would start to make his own diapers, plastic pants and stuff - maybe if he/she's an AB and would start building furniture - there would be the possibility to get certain skills...
