As tim stepped up, Derek noticed tim's shoes were untied again. He got down an took them off his feet. "You really need to get you some flip flops or something. We can't have you falling on ladders, it's pretty high up for you." He looked at the shoes. "so tiny" he muttered

"I-I'm just a l-little boy n' I need grownups help" he cried, "e-everyone hates m-me now, don't they?" he whined forlornly.

Cal burst out crying "y-you can't kick me out i-i-it's my band i dont w-wanna go home" he cried, holding bananas to comfort himself.

"What do think students are more interested in, paper work or a fun presentation?" He asked, heading to the other side of the class to get a step-stool for the projector. He put it down in front of tim and crouched to get on his level. He pointed "See that big button up there, just push that and it'll turn on. Step up" he said, patting the step

"OWWW! H-hey wha-OUCH!!...stop it". Cal grimaced "H-hey guys help me!!" He called out to his other bandmates "Alex has gone crazy!"

"Seems pretty simple to me, pal. What about the execution bothers you so much?" He asked, looking through the plans. "Speaking of which, you almost never use the projector. Presentations are important" He knew why Mr Richmond never used it, it was because he was too small to reach it.

"That's stupid. I don't need to wear flip flops and im not a baby i dont need to hold anyone's hand!" Cal scowled "I'm a fucking adult."

"You forgot to tie your shoes? Thats a bit silly. Maybe you need velcro ones." he replied, ignoring the teacher comment. "Anyways I was thinking we could sort out a lesson plan for tomorrow."

"ummm, Uhhhh. No shoes or socks on the bus and if the pillow is on your lap i need to lay down."

"I was just saying hello, considering we're gonna be spending a lot more time together." he walked to the other side of the desk and took hold of tim's elbows, looking for scrapes. "You ok after that fall, buddy?" he asked

"uhh, ok" he said a bit worried. He laid his head on Alex's lap, still wondering how long it would be till they got there. He'd always been impatient on journeys.

Derek had been busy working up a sweat in gym class,When the bell rang for lunch, he decided to pay his little friend a visit, knocking once before walking right in. He was still sweaty and in a tank top that showed off his muscles. "Hey Mr Richmond," he noticed his head on the desk "Were you taking a nap?" he chuckled. Leaning on his desk and checking out his pen collection. "Awh these disney ones are real cute, sir."

Cal woke up a short while later, feeling well rested. He stretched. "Hey guys, how many miles left?" he asked, smiling.

"Derek, he's in your senior class. A wonderful student!" Mr Smith said with enthusiasm.

"not fair, n-not tired" he mumbled, struggling to open his eyes because he was so tired and hungover, and Alex's stroking was making him even sleepier. He fell asleep on Alex's lap.

Mr Smith just smiled. "I see... Well, I had a wonderful chat with one of our top students. He got exceptional grades in your subject, so I don't doubt you're a good educator, Mr Richmond, but sometimes we all need extra help. He'll start as your assistant tomorrow, during his free classes." he waited for a response

"b-but no one else has to do this, and what if im not tired or I want to get up. And it's not your bus, it's a rental" He rambled, clinging onto his monkey. He closed his eyes a bit and yawned, enjoying his hair being stroked.

"As you know your position in this school, like all other teaching faculty here, is dependent on the grades achieved by your classes at the end of the year." he began "It's come to my attention your having a bit of trouble keeping students focused and things organized. Correct, tim?"

Cal sighed and laid down on Alex's lap, blushing fiercely. He knew there was no way he'd get bananas back from him otherwise, Alex was too strong and tall. He hoped none of the other band members could see him like this.

"I'm very well thanks. I just wanted to discuss your performance this semester. I've had some concerns raised by a number of faculty and students." he started, tone friendly but serious

"Alex can i please get bananas- Uhhh, i mean my sock monkey back" he pleaded again. He was surprised to have his shoes and socks taken. "I dont wanna lay on your lap, gimme him back" he huffed,

The headmaster Mr Smith decided to pay a visit to Mr Richmond. "Hello, Tim." he greeted, a friendly smile on his face as he entered the class.

"h-hey" he whined in embarrassment, panting, as his beloved monkey stuffie was revealed for all to see. He followed right behind Alex trying to keep the monkey out of view as much as he could or take it back from Alex. He was too out of breath to say much.

Once the bell rang. Derek got up and packed away his things, but not before saying goodbye to Mr Richmond, paying little attention to his upset. He had a plan. During break he went straight to the headmasters office, whom he got along very well with due to his sporting and academic talent, and decided to discuss something. "Excuse me Mr Smith, i'd like to talk to you about some concerns I have." "Of course, Derek. Please sit down." The headmaster replied "Thanks. Well I was noticing Mr Richmond was struggling a bit with the class, and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind me helping him during my free periods? As you know I want to go into education after graduating." The headmaster knew this was true, and at the current rate Mr Richmond's future at the school was on shaky grounds. "I don't see why not. I'm sure you'll be a great assistant. Very well, Derek, you can start tomorrow." "Thank you, Mr Smith." He said, giving the man a charming smile and shaking his hand before leaving the office.

"I wont Alex" he said, unbuckling his belt and getting out the car. Once Alex had driven off he grumbled "not a little boy." and stomped his feet before going inside. He was very tired and fell asleep on his bed, waking up with only ten minutes to pack. He panicked and started to freak out, shoving as many clothes into his big rucksack as he could, and grabbing his guitar and gear. Right before he left the house, he remembered he forgot his sock monkey, and ran back inside to grab him. "Sorry, bananas" he apologised to his beloved stuffed animal, shoving him into his bag but forgetting to zip it properly so one of its legs were hanging out. He had to run to the bus stop, and by the time he got there he was panting and out of breath.
