  1. I greatly agree with Bettypooh and the fact that one is forced to align themselves to one side or the other in our society.
  2. I'm curious to take this topic in a slightly different direction.
  3. It would be interesting to collect and correlate the nutritional data, and figure out actual calorie intake.
  4. Yay a topic I can be an expert on! I avoided wearing for about 5 months after GRS, and after that kind of went back to wearing occassionally. I didn't end up healing right had had to have a minor revision after about a year, which actually caused some nerve damage and I was incontinent for about three weeks. I managed quite well, although my surgeon was horrified when I told her. All in all, I wear nightly now with no issues. I would just make sure you rinse your bits well in the shows will a hand held sprayer.
  5. I have found that my insomnia has been getting worse and worse these past few months, and at the same time I'm growing tired of pills/medication to shut down my brain so I can sleep. One thought that has stood out to me is to wear diapers to bed more often which seems to have helped me in the past. Has anyone found diapers improving insomnia? Has any specific bedtime rituals improved the experience of getting to sleep? Any advice on selling a diaper friendly mommy type partner on the idea?
  6. Hormone therapy, under WPATH guidelines can start with just a therapists letter, but it is generally a life long thing, especially for those who have surgery. Some endocrinologists spike hormone levels, and others slowly introduce them to their patients. Doctors preference I guess. As for surgery, I've heard of some surgeons that are willing to ignore less than one year of "Real life experience", and some that will have their own staff psychiatrists write you letters recommending surgery. Bottom line, if there is a will and money, there is a way.
  7. I kind of suspect more people are transitioning now than did a few years ago. My girlfriend and I went north this weekend to visit family and play ingress. We've randomly spotted about a half dozen other transwomen since Friday night that were in the early stages of transition.
  8. Sometimes we spend all of our energy trying to fit in to what others expect. One thing seems odd to me, stopping CSHT (hrt, but the proper acronym) is a bad idea.. Really bad after surgery.
  9. HRT.. Hormones brought me mental peace. That's the best way I can describe it. Of course boobs also appeared, and eventually I started to smile all the time. Diapers after SRS... Feeling wise, it's fairly similar except the lack of penis means they actually tend to fit better with there being no bulge. There are two things that are very different for me. I have a very pronounced clitorious, which means it rubs up against the diaper, almost in an uncomfortable way, at least until I wet. Wetting is the other thing that feels weird. It's not like there is a constant stream directly against the diaper, it's spread out across my entire vulva. The downside is if I wet laying down, some urine might get up into my vagina and drain out once I stand up. As for the how soon question, it really comes down to how quickly you heal. I stayed away from diapers for the first 4 months after surgery, and have only gradually reintroduced them over the past few months. You'll want to keep an eye out for signs of bacterial vaginosis., which honestly can be a little hard to spot when your initially healing. As for messy, that's not something I've willingly engaged in.. I spent a lot of money on my new parts and I don't want to break them. That being said, a few of my post-op friends who are also into diapers have indicated that you can, but none of them dared it before they were fully healed. Hopefully that answers your questions.
  10. This was my biggest fear having SRS, but I didn't have any problems once so ever.
  11. As of now, I'm 5 months post-op and the sensation is very different and a bit more enjoyable. I'm finding it seems like there is still too much material in the center, but then again it is all far more comfortable. That being said, take your time and use your dilators to get a feeling for how your new parts are doing since it does take everything up to a year to heal and trapped moisture with a different PH does put you at risk for an infection. Be prepared for nurses and doctors to tell you to give up underwear at home while your healing so your new parts get plenty of fresh air.
  12. I was thinking of anything more along the lines of preventing rashes/infections since complete healing of the surgical site can take up to a year.
  13. Hi everybody! I'm a thirty year old recently post-operative transgender woman as well as an adult baby. I've steered clear of wearing diapers since surgery and I'm still healing, but I've started to wonder what sort of things I need to know to keep my new girly parts in good order. I know one thing that keeps rolling around in the back of my mind has been the fact that I've been told to go without panties (and pants) as much as possible while at home. This was from the nurses who took care if me during my initial recovery, my girlfriend/mommy, and my general practitioner stating that it is to allow my new parts to breath.
