  1. For me it's the combination with other comforting clothes that makes the diaper extra enjoyable in cold weather: thick wool tights, a second long-sleeve onesie, corduroy pants or leggings etc. The feeling of comforting enraptdness...
  2. My doc didn't say anything about the type of incision he's considering. I assume there are only two variables: uni/bilateral incision, and the choice of cutting tool (laser, knife...). Are there more? What experiences and what else should I be aware of?
  3. How is the Spanner prevented from migrating into the bladder? Just the small flange that's outside the external sphincter? I just have a hard time seeing how that would be effective. It must be that the external sphincter prevents the flange from migrating inward. So maybe the solution is a catheter with an inflatable balloon inside the internal sphincter (ie the bladder) and another just outside the external sphincter. But that would require knowing how to make one like that...
  4. When you say "it doesn't work", do you mean the migration issue or does the urine not drain? How is your design different from other stents, e.g. The Spanner? How do they prevent (or at least slow down) migration? And: what size catheter did you use?
  5. The last time I inserted a 16Fr with 5 oval holes (punched out using a stencil) I notices that although I had inserted it to the Y, there was no urine flowing. Conclusion it must have doubled over. Only after I pulled it back out and then back in was I able to get the urine flow and correct feeling of sphincter penetration. I never had that happen with 18Fr catheters or thicker, so I think the thinner they are the more likely they are to double over. There also was more blood that time upon removal.
  6. My doc suggested that we consider a surgery to perform a bladder neck incision if my other treatments don't show any results.
  7. Update on my experience with the cable-tie-clamped indwelling catheter, this time with a 16Fr (30cc inflated to 25cc).
  8. How long should I expect it to take me before I stop noticing my indwelling catheter during normal activities?
  9. How long did you wear the catheter for? What were you doing wile wearing it? How active we're you? What type and size catheter was it? What lube did you use?
  10. Thanks, Baby Brian. How do you assure there's enough lube before you start exercising? Do you inject additional lube? If yes, how? Or do you rub it on the catheter aNd glans and then get it inside the urethra by a back-and-forth motion? (risk of moving bacteria upstream?)
  11. I strongly recommend the male guards from Abena. They are very comfortable and super absorbent. But most of all: they have a cup-like shape with leak guards. Very effective.
  12. >> what, like you're going to do it yourself? Ha! Do-it-yourself knows no limits. ;-)
  13. So I went for a run with an 18Fr (i had run out of 16Fr). Overall I had a great run except for one thing: rubbing in the urethra right behind the glans. Lots of chafing there, discomfort, the blood.
  14. Who exercises with a catheter in place? With 'exercise' I mean going for a run, playing tennis etc.
  15. I read several posts where it was reported that too small a size would allow the catheter to move around too much, that it should Dir snugly. I am not sure what size that would be but I am very comfortable with a 18Fr, with the exception of sitting.
  16. When I have a catheter in, I find sitting somewhat uncomfortable. The pressure on my perineum causes me discomfort. Diaper bulge (when wet) exacerbates the situation.
  17. The loss of control is what my diaper / cathether / ... games are all about. I have discussed these desires with a therapist and clearly they are related to both the very high standards that were set for me during my childhood and the standards I am setting for myself. Just like Will Ford I live a life full of responsibilities, so that I have a great need to let go, lose control in at least one part of my life.
  18. I found answers to my own questions through experimentation.
  19. I think the recommendation of getting and keeping you swim suit wet is the easiest and most straightforward. However, if the water is cold or you are at a pool then it may be uncomfortable to continuously go into the cold water, and I believe it wrong to continuously pee into a pool. As an alternative I recommend a Cunningham clamp. They are comfortable, very effective and very discrete. I have worn them in many situations, public and private pools.
