  1. NJ is Sunday, so we shouldn't have any schedule conflicts if people want to show up at both. Besides, this gives the non-car possessing of us locals a chance for a meetup that won't take many hours to get to.
  2. Would anyone be able to make Saturday work? Body Worlds is still at the Franklin and apparently great.
  3. I'm trying to figure out what way to get in. If I can make the logistics work out, I'll be there. Anyone who can tell me the closest NJ transit stop would be wonderful.
  4. Not having any luck with nj transit- their website keeps saying there's nothing in the area. What station should I search for that is close enough to hopefully be picked up at?
  5. Instead of a bunch of us finding our own ways, why don't we coordinate so we can all get there together? Is anyone other than me going?
  6. I'm booked this upcoming weekend, but I should be able to clear the next. Let's get this going before hiking season steals all my weekends. BTW, I've never suspected any ax murderers of hanging out in here... should I? PS. If winter is killing you, head down to the flower show and stand in the middle of the Brazil exhibit for a while. Instant living plants fix!
  7. Now that nearly every weekend isn't a whiteout, I think it might work. Not to mention more people would show if it was warmer.
  8. I bought a brand new red sleeper from Jumpin Jammerz, only to find out that I am not a large by any stretch of the imagination. This is brand new, never worn, and less than half of what the website would charge. If any people are taller than myself and interested, it's cherry red polar fleece just like this: http://www.jumpinjammerz.com/cherry+red/product-179-pajamas/
  9. It blizzards quite a bit around here. My school gave up on trying to open last night and the street is greatly buried in snow. Let the sledding down the museum steps begin!
  10. I'm actually out of town this coming weekend (the 7th and 8th). Could we try for the weekend after? Both of the things we'd like to try are running for a while longer. Sorry to delay it. I'd love to meet all of you too, but I'm going out for my grandmother's birthday on Friday night and won't be back till Sunday.
  11. Hey, the bigwigs forced them to at least run for the baseball game. Might cut down on the issues on south Broad Street tonight. They'll just end up screwing all the commuters Monday instead.
  12. I can't guarantee a way back home, with SEPTA threatening to shut down service without warning. Sorry, I have to skip this one. Hopefully next month there won't be a strike in my way.
  13. Saturdays are best for me too. My job sticks me out in KOP during the week. Anyone else want to throw out scheduling ideas?
  14. Much as I hate to ask, is there anyone who is coming from Philadelphia that I could carpool with? Theoretically, I could get there by public transit, but it involves six hours and the public transportation systems of three states (One of which may be on strike Saturday.) I can get to Trenton if need be, or any of the stops on the Northeast Corridor to Newark. I would of course split costs with the driver.
  15. Fun and education is fantastic! Any suggestions for lunch?
  16. Dinosaurs would be fun. Anyone else up for going to see dinosaurs?
  17. Here's the deal. We have a fairly decent bunch of us here that all live in this great metropolis. We also possess a simple means of transport (i.e. SEPTA). We possess a whole bunch of awesome things to do around here and a food selection to please the pickiest of palates. So.... why are we still hiding behind our monitors now? Philly-ites and those nearby, send out your suggestion for a meetup that might intrigue you. I'm a museums and culture kinda girl, but open to a lot of suggestions. Let's put a face to the screen names and see if we can do for Philly what SIDNY did for New York.
  18. I remember making AB clothing fondly. Perhaps my neighbors didn't remember it so fondly, but that was because I lived on the second floor and used hammer-in snaps... That banging noise? Just... installing curtain rods... If you have a worn to death t-shirt that fits perfectly, use it to start the draft of your pattern. I have made a few absolutely perfect onesies from one old tee shirt pattern.
  19. I can get there, but getting back might be a problem. Seems the trains aren't running back until the morning if I stay for the fair. (Public transportation- sigh). Anyone passing through Philly or possibly Trenton? I can connect with Septa there.
  20. Any chance the location could be public transportation accessible? I can connect via Septa, and I'd love to meet more Abs!
