  1. I do hang my cloth diapers out on the clothes line when weather permits. They have a fresh air scent that I like and saves on my dryer bill. Another benefit over using a dryer can be seen in the dryer lint filter. All that lint came from the fibers of the diapers, so their life is undoubtably reduced by using a dryer. The down side is they are generally stiffer. But, then, nothing's really for free. I do cheat a bit and hang them between other clothes reducing, but not eliminating the chance that they may be seen. The plastic pants are another matter. I've read that the sun is not good for vinyl- something about uv rays. So those get dryed in the house. I have on occasion pin the plastic pants under a sheet on the line with apparently no ill affects. I'm of the age where it was common to see diapers, and plastic baby pants as well, hanging on the clothes lines. Moms washed diapers often and dryers weren't common. It is a fond memory for me to this day that the present generation will not share. Too bad.

    Ab Harnesses

I had experience with baby harnesses in the forties. Back then, it was not uncommon to see toddlers in leather harnesses down town with their Moms. I remember having one that buckled in the back where a set of baby reins were attached. I recall liking them if my memory serves me well. Sadly, the practice is rare today. I guess it's more important that a three or four year old's dignity not be tarnished that to eliminate the potential for the little one getting run over by a car or lost in a crowd. I'm sure that there are parents out there that wished they had used a harness on their baby these days. You can still buy them but not everywhere. Europeans appear smarter in that respect where, I understand, they are still commonly used.
  3. I remember the Playtex baby pants TV commercial of around 1960 with the theme, " How dry I am...in Platex pants....". Anybody seen that commercial? Seems like all the video commercials are for disposables. Would love to see that again!
  4. I just realized that I didn't address the original string. I ditto not giving out credit card info unless it's clearly in your best interest. About ten years ago, I used a credit card to make 3 or 4 on-line purchases with what I thought was a safe transaction. They were for adult baby items from what I considered good companies- some still in business today. I received a call from the credit card company shortly thereafter asking if I had made a cash advance of $2,000.00 at a horse race track! When I informed them that I was unaware of it, they indicated that they thought not as it was inconsistent with my credit history and that they would take care of it. I never heard about it again. Secure transactions are much safer today. But back then, I suspect that an employee, probably without the company's knowledge, sold my info to someone with fraud in mind. What surprises me is how they could attempt a cash advance without clearcut positive ID! Identity theft is big business today and growing, and the first line of defense is our own caution. Happy New Year all !!
  5. That's scary marcuss. It's been my experience that credit card companies will investigate issues like this for you. It's in the best interest of the credit card company to resolve this sort of thing. Otherwise they run the risk of loosing a card holder as they did in your case. At least you have a good paper trail indicating your efforts to resolve this with Microsoft. And may I suggest that you check your latest credit reports, and request a correction if the blemish still exists, if you've not already done so. Good luck.
  6. Had you considered Leakmaster Deluxe vinyl pants which have the thick strong vinyl like the Comco pants? They are styled naturally with what is commonly called a "high back" style which is a special feature that can be ordered with 3 inches or so additional waistband height on other pants. They generally run about $15.00 to $20.00, but you can get a price break for three or more. I use Comco or Gary for day use, but the "high back" feature is great for covering those thick night time diapers. And if you don't mind some bagginess, you could use a larger size as long as you are content with less tight fit on the elastics. But Cosco pants are the best pricewise that I've come across for the thicker vinyl styles. Unfortunately, many plastic pants manufacturers and retailers don't give the rise of the pants, which can give you some indication of the room in the back. It may pay to call or email the store and ask for this information before deciding on a purchase, especially for a large order. Your quantity should give you considerable bargaining power for a great price. If you start with selecting a manufacturer's style, then you can negotiate a best price from a number of their retailers ( competition works). But you probably know all that if you've bought in quantity before. I agree with Beallucanb's comment on rubber pants with regard to roominess and wide crotch. I have a couple pair that I find require extra care such as powdering, etc. But they're great for leak protection. I also don't use snap-ons at night, only for day use. The side seam is just an added potential leak zone if you're a heavy wetter and move a lot at night like me. So I stick to pull-ons at night. And you didn't say whether you plan to use the plastic pants over vinyl or cloth diapers. Where you were seeking a wide crotch and extra high waist, I assumed that you wore cloth diapers. Lastly, you might consider using a search engine with key words, high waist and/or wide crotch and plastic pants. My experience is that these searches are well worth the time. I hope that you will post your choice and reasons for it in the future. Have a happy New Year!

    Nite Nite 3

That position on the tummy in a diaper and plastic baby pants looks so wonderful. It would be tempting to gently pat and rub that pantied fluffy bum!
  8. This is part of a response to a separate string that I thought deserved its own string. I'm a product of the 50's so I can say that they ( Gary plastic pants ) have the same feel as the baby pants of old, but maybe softer. How do I know? I remember carrying my little cousin and always loved rubbing & patting that nice smooth padded bum and giving him his bottle. It's no wonder that we relate to that wonderful feeling of being safe and secure in a soft fluffy diaper and plastic baby pants while cuddling up to a bottle. What a feeling of contentment. I remember the same thing with my nephew in Gerber toddler baby pants in the late 80's. So all you diaper and plastic pants wearers, enjoy those wonderful baby pants, and if you have the time, please tell us about them. Thanks to companies like Gary and their distributors, we can be transported back to those more pleasant times when we were held like my cousin and nephew while securely encased in a soft diaper and plastic or rubber pants from Gerber, Empire, Alexis, Evenflo, fruit-of-the-loom, playtex, or any of the multitude of store brands like Pat-a-Cake that Mom purchased from Woolworth's, especially in those larger sizes like toddler and super sizes in our later years as older babies or bedwetters. Those are wonderful memories for us all I'm sure. God, how I miss those days. Is there anyone out there that feels like I do, or is this all lost to a fetish type response on our part?? Happy New year to all.
  9. Maybe they are like the real old Gerbers, but the Gerbers of more recent years aren't of the see-thru translucent type that these Gary pants are ( a Gerber authentic adult plastic pants was available from VIP, but, alas, they are no longer in business ). But these Gary pants are among the best, in my opinion, because they have the feel and look of the baby pants of the 60's- nice soft smooth vinyl where you can see the diaper pins thru them. I don't think that you'll be disappointed. Great fit- roomy in the rear and nice stretchy elastics in the waistband and leg openings, the kind that you can snap at the waist after pulling them that gives that secure feeling that everything is going to be OK. I like to get two sizes, a comfortable size for day use and the next larger size in a high back style pull-on baby pant for bed time. You can also get these frequently on Ebay. Please comment on how you find them. I'm a product of the 50's so I can say that they have the same feel as the baby pants of old, but maybe softer. How do I know?
