  1. One thing you might want to add to your set up is a pair of lined plastic pants.  You can buy plastic pants that have a terry cloth lining that will take care of any leaks that happen.  I've been doing this for a number of years now with great results.  Just wear them over a good disposable diaper and leaks should be a thing of the past.

When diapers alone are not enough?

I can see this helping with side sleepers who use disposables.  I've been using lined plastic pants for this same reason for quite a while now.  This looks like another solution.  Might even breathe a bit better too.

  3. I once saw a young mother at the checkout with a toddler in tow have her card declined.  She had some staples such as bread and milk....but she also had cigarettes and diapers.  She made the choice to put the smokes back.  Good for her I thought.....

  4. I'm in the same boat.  I can only get two or three wettings into a Megamax before they leak.  It just seems to me like they don't wick quick enough....which is a terrible shame because as far as diapers go....they're extremely well built.

My other complaint is their tapes.  I've never seen a diaper tape grip SO FREEKIN HARD.  Man...they hold on tight.  Usually that's a good thing but it can be a PITA pulling them off the landing zone.

  5. Ugh...  Could you imagine having to deal with all those wet and dirty diapers back in the day?  Disposables are much more better than those cloth ones.  I realize that there are folks who like cloth and the bulk and whatnot but IMO nothing beats taping on a thick and crinkly disposable diaper.  Once you're through with it...just throw it away.  Much better.

  6. Once I went on CPAP my quality of life really improved.  I pretty well fought tooth and nail trying to avoid CPAP therapy but I'm much better for it now than I used to be.  I know healthcare in the US can be costly but I would wholly recommend getting a sleep study done just to make sure one way or another.

  7. Its only happened to me a couple of times but I do get a little bit of a jolt whenever I see a used adult diaper out in the wild.  One of those things that just lets a person know that they're not alone in all this.  I tend to wonder what the other person is like and what is happening in their lives to necessitate the use of adult diapers.

Unfortunately I've yet to come across an actual 'ABDL' style diaper but there are a few of us up here in my neck of the woods so you never know.....

  8. I'm kinda cycling between two brands right now.  The Abena L4 is my 'goin to town' diaper but I'm also rockin the Incontrol Essentials from time to time.  I can rely on the Incontrols for 2-3 wettings and I managed to get 6 into my Abena yesterday.

I've got much thirstier diapers but I keep those for special occasions or for when I want to change things up...but the Abena's and the Incontrol's are where its at right now.

  9. I always felt that the loudest diapers were the old style Depends diapers from the 90's.  I haven't worn them in quite a while but I do recall them being quite noisy.  I do know that Incontrol Essentials are quite a bit louder than the Abena L4's I wear.  I won't hesitate to wear either diaper when I need to run errands but I can sure hear the Essentials more.

But hey, when you wear diapers, leaks happens. I have way fewer leaks now than I used to when I started out, mostly because I wear better diapers.

The thing is....I've never really had any pin hole issues with my Abena's that I can recall.  They're my go to diaper and I absolutely FLOOD the heck out of them.  I'll still wear them for sure....I'm almost done with this bag so I'm sure the next bunch will be just fine.

Tena had this problem, but I solved it with stuffers, as it only leaked when it got flooded.

I always carry spare diaper when I go out, just for cases like this.

Fortunately I was pretty close to home when it got bad so I just headed there.  I think I might try covering the front of the diaper with clear packing tape to see if that helps.  I'll just use a different brand for running errands for the time being.

It's truly frustrating how few bags of groceries that buys anymore.

When you can bring everything into the house in one go rather than multiple trips......

200 dollars likely would amount to 3 grocery bags where we live....

  13. I've been wearing the Abena L4's for quite a few years now.  I can rely on them for 3-4 full wettings....usually.  Not today.  My doctor has me on some blood pressure meds that makes me go more frequently but that's not the problem I had today.  I noticed that after my 2nd wetting that my underwear and pants got wet.  I was out shopping and didn't have a fresh diaper to change into and with my medication causing more frequent wettings there was no way I was going to take my leaky diaper off and have a full on accident....so I kept it on.  By the 4th wetting my underwear was soaked and my pants were significantly damp.  Thankfully I wore dark sweatpants over my diapers today and I don't think anyone noticed.

Upon further investigation....I found that my diaper had pinhole leaks all over the front of it.  I haven't had to deal with pinholes in diapers for quite some time and I can't recall ever having the problem with the Abena's before.  I'm hoping its just a one off with this bag as I still have 6 or 7 full bags of L4's left.

I also have a significant number of higher quality diapers in my stash so if worse comes to worse I can pop into one of those for my shopping excursions.

  14. So when I go run errands these days I usually diaper up.  I'd rather wear my own bathroom than have to deal with public ones.  So I just get back home after shopping and checking the mail and as soon as I get out of my car....my bowels just let loose.  No real warning....just let it fly into my Abena L4.  At least I was in my driveway and not in the middle of the grocery store when it happened.

Not sure what happened.....my stomach is feels a bit upset....but not overly so.  So glad I wore diapers today.
