I don't usually wear diapers myself, possibly because I am mostly attracted to females that do. I don't know, I just fint it cute.
But yes ... I did wear one for my final exams It was entirely for practical reasons. I'd get nervous hand would have to pee. But needing to use the bathroom reduces my concentration. On short oral exams, a bathroom break wasn't possible. On longer written exams, I might be in a hurry at the end and not have time for it. So I had a Goodnites pullup in my pants. I don't think anyone noticed. I never planned on using it, and went to use the bathroom if I could, but on two or three occasions I did wet. I think the Goodnites helped be get better grades. It wasn't even being a DL that got me onto the idea. It was one of my friends, a girl who used to diaper for dry-suit scuba diving. (Most female scuba divers do.) She told me she had started wearing one of her diapers for exams and fields trips, just to avoid the hassle, and I thought it was a good idea. Overall I must say I recommend a diaper if a bathroom trip is not possible or inconvenient. Being desperate to pee feels far less attractive.
There was probably other occations as well, during which a diaper would be practical, particularly pull-up style diapers that can be pulled down like a pair of underpants. But being a male, it is less inconvenient for me to relieve myself, as I can stand and pee. I guess females have more issues, with a generally smaller bladder, weaker sphincter muscle, and not being able to stand while they urinate. That is probably why females are more prone to wet themselves accidentally.
