Katie's Intruder

He shook his head.

"Well, that's not normal for a girl your age to not be able to finish your dinner," he told her.

Katie looked down at her lap. She didn't want to lie to her father, but she didn't want to tell him that she was fat. She knew he'd just deny it and say she's beautiful and even if she was chubby they'd still love her.

He sighed and nodded at her.

"I get it, honey.

[Shy-Diapers]

Her dad didn't get it. She sighed and remained quiet. In her mind it wasn't a crash diet. She was just avoiding sugar.

[Ishigreensa]

John looked over at Katie to see if they had a deal, but it was certain that she was not alright.

He sighed and shook his head.

"Everyone says I'm fat! Okay dad?!" Katie snapped, giant tears running down her pale, freckled face. "I'm so starving all the time but everyone thinks I'm fat at school. I got laughed at so much at swim try outs because my suit was baggy on me! Everyone thought I was wearing a size big so i could hide how fat I am. My suit doesn't fit me anymore but I didn't want to tell you or mom. I know they're expensive and especially now with the other girl at home you guys don't need to pay for another bathing suit for me because I can't fit into it anymore." She looked away, feeling emotionally raw.

John shook his head and he stopped the car at a park parking lot as soon as he found one.

Katie cried into her father's chest for a long time. She was having so much trouble in middle school and now it'd be even worse because she'd be with high school girls! She sighed.

[Ishigreensa]

"I don't care how expensive competitive suits are," he told her.

[Shy-Diapers]

"What do you mean?" Katie asked looking down at her feet when he mentioned having a cold.

[Ishigreensa]

"I don't know how he knows it.

[Shy-Diapers]

"I don't feel like I have the flu." Katie said softly. She moved away from her father. He didn't acknowledge what she had said to him. Nor did he even pick up on the fact that if she wasn't on the swim team she wouldn't need a competitive suit. She felt like all that mattered was what was wrong with her.

In truth, there was nothing he could do about the friends problem other than to try to help her with her self image.

"Nobody is jealous of me." Katie said softly. When her clothes were stolen nobody knew she was even a good swimmer. She sighed and looked away. Her dad wasn't being very helpful anymore.

[Ishigreensa]

John sighed and shook his head.

"Well, hiding your clothes like that was a form of bullying.

[Shy-Diapers]

"I don't know." Katie said softly. "Whatever you think."

She stood up when he tried to put her in his lap. "Stop it! I'm not a little kid anymore!" She groaned and stomped to the car. She buckled herself in and slammed the door shut. She felt like screaming.

John sighed and walked back to the car with her and watched her slam the door.

Katie stayed completely quiet the whole way home. She was extremely moody because of not having much sugar lately. If she didn't have low blood sugar she wouldn't be having so many mood swings.

Cathy started towards the stairs to go talk to her about her behavior when John came in behind her and called Cathy over.

"Don't.

[Shy-Diapers]

"What do you want?!" Katie asked, her face buried in her pillow. She was in no mood for anyone to come talk to her and criticize her which is what she figured was going to happen.

"No one is coming in to ground you," Cathy said.

[Shy-Diapers]

"Because I keep slamming my door and being upset." Katie grumbled.

[Ishigreensa]

"I don't know, honey.

[Shy-Diapers]

"That's an understatement." Katie said obviously hurt.

[Ishigreensa]

"I think he's just really worried and didn't think to ask, honey.
