Have a lil holiday special!

 

The lights above her twinkled. From the floor, the height of the tree made her feel so small. Hell, standing against it made her feel small, but with the big boxes all wrapped and set around it, there was just something extra.

 

She had scoffed at the idea of putting a tree in the foyer, but Nozomi had been right. It was more space for a taller tree and that was exactly what she needed. As she sat on the floor kicking her feet and looking up at the lights, Nozomi's smiling face came into view. 

 

"Having fun, princess?" She asked, receiving an exaggerated nod in reply. "That's good, but it's about time for bed. Santa Paws will be here soon and you don't want him to skip our house because you were still awake, would you?"

 

Ko let out a squeal and rolled to her feet. "No no no! He wouldn't, would he?"

 

Nozomi chuckled. "Let's get you to bed so we don't have to find out, okay baby?" Ko nodded and took her paw. Together they made their way to the nursery to get her changed into a fresh diaper and feetie jammies. Nozomi lifted the kitten into the crib giving her little pats to her crinkling rump. "There we go. All snug and ready to go off to dreamland." 

 

Ko gave a big yawn and Nozomi kissed her good night. It wasn't often they slept separately, but tonight seemed like one that it would help her stay in little space.

As the sun had just started shining through the nursery windows, Ko opened her eyes. It took her a moment to focus, but as soon as she did she was on her feet, bouncing in the crib. "Mommy mommy mommy! It's Christmas!"

 

Nozomi groggily opened the door. "Sure is baby girl. Ready for breakfast or…?"

 

"Santa Santa Santa!" Ko chanted excitedly making Zomi giggle.

 

"Okay princess, we can go see what he brought you first." Nozomi conceded, taking down the crib rail and giving Ko a sneak check. "Down we go." She said helping Ko to the floor. And off down the hall bolted the smilodon.

As Ko was marveling at the gifts that had been set up for her, Nozomi came over with a tablet. "Would you look at this. Looks like the camera caught something last night." She turned the video so that Ko could see a lion in the unmistakable suit of Santa Paws zoom around the room setting everything up. In the back of her mind she recognized that it was a video of Tau that had been set up to look like magic, but to little Ko it was video proof of Santa. Either way it was video proof she was loved.
