Cindy helps you into the folding chair. She picks up the bottles of lotion. "Oooo you have options! What'll it be? Vanilla? Strawberries? Or Aloe Vera?"

They start to unwrap you. Cindy sees the some of your scars. "Yikes! I thought I'd be prepared to see it in person but... damn!"

"Cindy! Mind your language!"

"Yeah..." she keeps unwrapping.

She's not looking so good...

"I'm sorry, I just... gimme a minute!" She bolts out of the room.

and that was the reaction i figured would happen

"Oh dear. She hasn't had an panic attack in months. I thought she was done with them."

maybe seeing my scars triggered some thing

"Yes, I think so too. You see, she's a very sensitive girl. She used to have these episodes almost every day where she'd just cry her little eyes out."

oh whys that

"The reasons are too complex to go into. She just had a bit of emotional trouble due to her upbringing. The smallest thing would send her over the edge. After years of treatment I thought she was completely cured of her panic attacks."

well guess the thoughs of how i looked sent her over the edged

"Yes, I suppose I can't blame her. After all, I cried when I first saw you, didn't I?"

thats true but so have nurses at the hospital

"Yes. Don't worry. I'll have a word with Cindy and make sure she knows you don't hold it against her."

"Yes." She puts her hand on your bare cheek. "Don't worry, baby. The scars will be mostly faded by the time the bandages come off for good. You're not a freak. You are beautiful, Amber."

She smiles. "You are quite possibly the most remarkable person I've ever met, Amber."
