Looking for tips on flat cloth diapers

I recently started trying out flat cloth diapers. I like how they feel, and I've learned how to fold them several ways, but I'm running into a problem. No matter how I pin them, they always feel loose, even under plastic pants, and as I move they fall down. I think the problem is that, even if I pull them snug around my hips before pinning, the cloth naturally pulls to the far ends of the pins, adding an extra inch or so to each side. Does anyone know how to avoid this? Thanks!

Like in the video below, I push the pin down through all layers and then back up to fasten.

You can also try an alternative fastener like a Snappi.

Do they make Snappi-style things for adults? There's no way a baby-size one would fit on me.

I use Boingo fasteners with my 4-10-4 prefolds. They are like mini bungee straps and work well with my 40" waist.
