[Danny]

I smile "Mark is like a brother to me.  We've known each other for a long time" 

Dan looks surprised "okay? Did they say who?"

"It's Mark. Camille wasn't feeling well so they took her room the hospital today. She's having the baby soon"

[Danny]

I look shocked "Okay, do you want me to look after Riley? You need to focus on Cam, she needs you. I can take Riley home and me and Rachel can watch them"

"Riley's fine. Just keep him with you. I'll let you know when we need you"

[Danny]

Dan sighs "OK, give my best to Cam, I will see you guys soon, take care ok, let me know if you need anything"

I hang up and looks at Lisa "Riley's mom is having another baby, and she was rushed to the hospital"

"Oh really? Congratulations.

I think you should wait to tell Riley until his new sibling is here. Kids this age get very excited and won't be able to focus. But it's your choice"

[Danny]

Looks at you "Its not for me to tell him, I am not his dad, and that will fall on Mark to tell him, I don't want to get him excited, he needs to focus on class and potty training, but I just hope the new baby doesn't set him back"

"That's good. Lots of kids get jealous when they're no longer the baby. I'm sure Riley will be fine.

Let's gather the supplies. The children will be painting today.
Maybe Riley can paint something for the baby"

[Danny]

Looks at Lisa "Well, he has only just began potty training, so it may not be that easy. I am not sure that painting something is the right idea because it will mean that I have to tell him about his mommy?"

"Just say, paint a present for your baby brother or sister. It's not twins is it? We've had a couple sets of twin enroll here in the last couple years"

[Danny]

Looks at you "Mark never said if it was twins, or if they were expecting a boy or girl. Maybe it could be twins. I know Mark has twins in his family"

"He does? Oh. This will be interesting"


"All right children, today we will be painting our families.
Riley, sweetheart, I want you to paint everyone including your new sibling"

"Dan you can paint too if you'd like"

[Danny]

Dan looks at Lisa "No its fine, I am happy to supervise, I kinda need to go and empty the potties as Emily here was in a rush to get back to riley so I  didn't get a chance. I won't be long"

I head to the girls bathroom.

"Okay. Try to get them to use the real toilets from now on.

They're small enough for the children"

[Danny]

"well, she had to go badly so that's why she used the potty chair, but yeah she can start using the toilets, sorry about that"

I head to the bathroom and clean things up

"No it's fine. You're not in trouble"

The children paint for an hour

[Danny]

Dan comes back and watches as the kids paint their pictures "aww, they are really good"

Lisa: "They are"

 

Riley shows you his painting

 

"Here is us. Uncle Danny, Uncle Joe, Mommy, Daddy, me, Emmy and baby"

[Danny]

Dan smiles and hugs him "Aww Riley that's so good"

sees the baby, "I've seen you want a baby brother? is that right?"

"Nope. Sister. Baby brothers are stinky
And Emmy can play dolls with her"

[Danny]

Dan smiles "But who would you play with? You might not want to play with dolls. You might want to each the baby to play soccer? or with your toys?"

"I can play with Emmy.

And a girl gets more toys"

Lisa: "All right lunch time"

[Danny]

Dan sighs and smiles "OK buddy, whatever you say" I say as I hear Lisa and helps the boys clean up

After lunch Mark calls again

"Dan. The baby is here. Want to bring Riley down?"

[Danny]

I go over to Riley "hey buddy, the baby has arrived, I can take you to meet him or her?" I say with Mark still on the line
