justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 "Mommy, I don't need diapers," Willow mumbled sleepily when she realized what Grace was putting on her. Normally she'd fight it, thinking herself too old for such things, but she's too tired now to bother.
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 "It's not an actual diaper, it's one of your potty-training pull-ups" Grace says while gently getting Willow into her bed clothes; "Mommy doesn't know if you went potty before coming with us for story time, so this is just a precaution; you're still able to use the potty if you need to though."
justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Willow just nods and allows Grace to finish getting her into her pajamas. By the time Grace has the girl under the covers, she's drifting off to sleep.
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Grace gives Willow a kiss goodnight before retreating to her study not bothering to say goodnight to Michael.
justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 The next morning Willow wakes up early; despite Grace's suspicion, she has stayed dry all night. She gets up and discovers the rest of the family is still sleeping, so she creeps down to the living room and turns the TV on quietly, finding a cartoon to watch. She feels the urge to pee, but a brand new episode of her favorite cartoon is airing, and she doesn't want to miss it. After holding herself and squirming for a good 15 minutes she finally lets go, figuring that if she's wearing a diaper, she might as well use it. What she doesn't realize, however, is that Pull Ups aren't meant to hold much. Her bladder is quite full, since she hasn't used the toilet since before dinner the previous night, and soon the training pant is not only soaked
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 "Good morning honey" Grace says while going into the kitchen to make a pot of coffee; "Were you able to stay dry last night?"
justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 "Um, no, I had an accident," Willow lies to explain the wet Pull Up; she sees no reason to believe Grace won't buy it.
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 "It's okay sweetie, mommy's not mad" Grace says while coming over to Willow to see the damage to the couch; "It must've been so sudden that you didn't realize you had to go until it was too late; let's get this tended to."
justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Willow allows Grace to get her cleaned up and dressed, then approaches her brother while Grace gets breakfast started. "Bubby, I'm sorry I had an accident," she says, feeling bad that he has to clean up her mess
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Once Grace has Willow dressed (Your call on panties or pull-up), she allows her to go downstairs while she herself waits for Michael because she's not awake enough to tend to both Maddie and Lilian.
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Grace makes French toast and eggs while making sure to cut up the pieces for Lilian, though Maddie's stuck with oatmeal.
justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you?" She still feels bad that her brother was made to clean up after her immediately upon waking.
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 "Not really, though it's another matter" Michael answers before giving Willow another kiss; "Rest assured, it's nothing to do with you."
justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Lilian attempts to use the fork, but ultimately decides her fingers are quicker and easier. Maddie opens her mouth wide when she sees Michael bring the spoon toward her, eagerly gobbling up her oatmeal. When she's finished, though she wants only one thing, which only Grace can give her.
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 Grace doesn't have time to argue with Lilian over how to eat and just has her own breakfast until done; she then nurses Maddie.
justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 "Mommy, I'm done," Willow announces when her eggs and French toast are gone. "Can we play outside?"
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 "When you're done with your homework" Grace answers while nursing Maddie.
justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Lilian is indeed finished, and is busy smearing the maple syrup from her plate on the table when Michael turns his attention to her. Willow gets her homework out and takes her seat on the bar stool at the counter, her usual homework spot. "Michael, you said you'd help me today, remember?"
Kaidus Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 "And I will, but Lilian needs a wipe-down" Michael relies confirming that he remembers.
justagirl4fun Posted October 23, 2015 Author Posted October 23, 2015 Willow sighs. "Okay." She takes out a sheet of paper and starts doodling while she waits. Lilian squirms as Michael cleans her up, wanting to get down from the table. "Dow!" she orders as she makes the sign for "all done."
Kaidus Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 Michael lets Lilian down while Grace takes her and Maddie to the car (if she's done nursing); he then seats himself next to Willow.
justagirl4fun Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 Willow sets the wrinkled, torn worksheet in front of her brother with an exasperated sigh. "It just doesn't make any sense!" she says dramatically.
Kaidus Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 "Well, she still needs help with her table etiquette" Grace starts to answer; "I found myself having to feed her last night at dinner and just let her use her fingers at breakfast this morning; her brother Michael cleaned her up afterwards since I was still eating at the time."
justagirl4fun Posted October 24, 2015 Author Posted October 24, 2015 "I'm afraid that's an issue for Laura," Greg says with a chuckle, referring to the occupational therapist that will work with Lilian when she's done with her PT session. "For now, let's go work on the stairs." Before they can even get to the steps Lilian is whining in anticipation of what is coming. With her low muscle tone and lack of coordination, stairs are difficult for her but every week Greg works with her on climbing them. He knows that with a lot of hard work and patience, she will soon be climbing them independently.
