So rather randomly last night and kind of inspired by my story I wrote, I for the first time in my life aged 34 started to put my thoughts down in writing.

This sounds like the ramblings of a sane person to me. I really like this idea. I've always had similar worries as yours. I love my parents, but would not want them to have to walk into my apartment post-mortem and see it filled with diapers and baby stuff and wonder why. The journal/diary idea sounds like a great solution. I'm not planning on going anywhere anytime soon; but, especially in my line of work, one never knows when ones time will come.
