She hugs him tighter. "Oh you're welcome sweet pea, I'm glad you like him. What do you say we have a special treat and eat dinner at TGI Friday's?" She leads her little boy over to the checkout and they put the dinosaur into his box which is shaped like a house. She leads him to the restaurant by his hand and they get seated. "What would you like to eat sweetie?"

Rider was more than happy with the idea of going to dinner, he just knew he was going to be getting a beer like he normally would when they went out. He settled into his seat and sneakily took Spike out of his box. He'd just play with him until their food came so he wouldn't get dirty. He gazed through the menu, but stuck with the smaller, kid's menu.

"Of course you can sweetie," Janine tells him. When the waitress comes, she orders the chicken tenders and fries for Jayden, along with a glass of milk and she gets chicken Alfredo pasta and a sangria for herself, ordering some mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. When the waitress offers Jayden a booster seat, Janine accepts and helps him into it. "Are you having fun playing with Spike sweetheart?"

Jayden settled onto the seat, coloring on the placemat given to him, Spike tucked into his lap so he would have a good view.

"Yes mama." He answered before pushing the paper to her. "Wanna play tick tack toe?"

"I would love too sweetheart." Janine starts to play with him, with Jayden winning! "Oh you little stinker, how'd you beat your mommy?" She showers him with kisses and tickles him.

Jayden giggles loudly at the tickling fingers, squirming to get away from them before crying for her to stop. "It's cause I'm super smart." He explained and lit up as saw their waitress return with their drinks, the blonde's in a small plastic cup with a lid, and the plate of cheese sticks.

"You eat up darling, maybe put Spike next to you in the booth so he doesn't get messy." Janine tells him, putting a few of them onto each of their plates and taking a sip of her sangria. "Mommy knows you love these, you do still like them don't you?"

Jayden dutifully did what he was told, making sure the toy wouldn't fall off before tucking into his food. He picked the mozzarella stick up with the tips of his finger and took a nibble. "They're super yummy mommy." He said happily.

"That's good Punkin," Janine coos as she eats her own. The waitress soon comes with his main meal. She puts some ketchup on the side for him and ties a bib around his neck so he doesn't mess up his nice clothes.

Jayden smiled at the separate plate with ketchup; Janine remembered how he hated his food to touch when he was little. He sweetly thanked the waitress and started eating, dragging his fries through the red sauce before stuffing them in his mouth.

Janine eats her food and watches her son eat his own. "Hmmm seems like you really enjoyed your food. I suppose you've been good enough for desert," she teases. She orders him a brownie hot fudge sundae. She wipes his face off. "Having a good day baby?"

Jayden practically squealed when Janine said they could get dessert. That was like the ultimate reward of rewards. He pushed his nearly empty plate away and scooped up his stuffed toy, bouncing the animal in his lap, excited for the warm gooie treat. He nodded his head vigorously at her statement.

"Lots of fun mommy."

"Well I'm glad," Janine tells him. The desert comes and Janine ties a bib around Jayden's neck. "I just don't want you to mess up your outfit sweetie, I know these things can get kind of messy." She gives him a spoon before taking a bite on her own. "Mmmm. Yummy. I think you'll like this."

Jayden snatched up his own spoon, holding it in his whole fist as he scooped up a dripping portion of the brownie and ice cream. He made a happy squeal and kicked his legs at the delicious taste. By the time the dessert was gone, the blonde's pale face was smudged with the sweet treat. He pressed a fist against his grubby cheek as a big yawn broke past his lips. How could he already be tired at only seven thirty?!? But he did suppose that most babies were getting baths and then ready for bedtime by now.

Janine smiles as he eats. "Did you get any in your mouth?" She teases as she wipes his face and hands off. She pays the bill and makes sure her little boy has his dinosaur before leading him out to the car. Once he's strapped in, she drives him home and takes him upstairs. She takes him into the bathroom and strips him down. She scoops him up and places him into the tub once it's full and starts to bathe him. "Did you have fun today buddy?"

Jayden lets himself be carted off to the car, arms slung loosely over mommy's shoulder, Spike dangling from his grasp. He was quite during the car ride, eyes heavy with sleep. He made a disgruntled noise at the coldness that brushed over his skin as he was stripped but the chills went away when he settled in the tub.

"Mhmm. Had lots of fun mommy." He said, swiping his arms through the water. "Can I play with toys?" He asked. Even though he was sleepy, it was boring just sitting in the tub with someone washing him. Plus he was certain Janine would have bath toys given all the other items the apartment was already stocked up with.

"Of course JayJay," Janine tells him. She hands him a little boat to play with, a rubber ducky and a washcloth puppet. She takes the puppet and uses the frog shape to wipe his face. "Look at my friend Jayden," she says in a high pitchers voice pretending to be the frog. "We have to get him nice and clean!"

Once she's done washing him, she leans against the cabinets and allows him to play. She's had such a fun day with her little boy, she doesn't want it to end! But she knows this is just the beginning. Jayden is hers now, though he always has been. This just makes it official.

Jayden giggled at the froggy voice, squirming at the tickling touches of the wash cloth. He played with the boat, crashing under the waves, carting the duck around on the back of the small tugboat as his hair and body were scrubbed clean. He played until the water grew chilly and his fingers were pruney. He abandoned his toys and held his arms up, making grabby hands to Janine.

Janine grabs a ducky robe. It has a little hood and it makes the kids wearing them look like the animals. She lifts Jayden out, putting him in the robe and takes him into the nursery. She lays him on the table and diapers him, putting him in Cars jammies, drying off his hair. She then walks over to the bookshelf and pulls out "The Little Engine That Could". Cradling Jayden in her arms, Janine hands him Spike and sits in the rocking chair as she begins to read the story.
