Getting Better With Acceptance

I have been in the hospitol many times, but this is the first time since becoming incon.

I am having neck surgery next week and will be in the hospital for a couple days.

I was pretty apprehensive about it, but they were very cool about it all.

They offered me the choice of either a catheter or a diaper. I have tremendous issues with catheters and use diapers daily, so that was my choice.

The suggested that I bring my own diapers as the hospital diapers are not very good, and assistance will be provided if needed.

Its been about 10 months since I became incon, after years of being a DL, and I still struggle at times, when faced with new situations.

It went well though, and it is becoming easier and easier to accept and to identify myself as incontinent. its part of who i am now, its permanant, and its working out just fine.

I can agree with you! I have cervical spondylosis and am loosing control also! I drive a school bus and started to wear diapers and plastic pants so not to mess up my seat! I have no problems now and am considering surgery next summer but, I have some fears about the surgery and the outcome of it! I've been told by a family member that surgery helps but they still have wetting problems! I guess ZI'll have to think about the problem some more!

oh..the surgery is not for incontinence...its another neck/spine operation.
