Vintage Pampers Vs Todays Pampers

I looked this up in the search, but didn't find a matching topic.

The other day I saw a PICTURE of an open pair of wing folded vintage Pampers from the 70's

Then I measured a modern size 6 and 7.

The size 6 (and 5) have an 14 inch inch waist on each side stretched out.

So if hips aren't an issue, I assume a person close to 28 inches can wear.

The size 7 was barley different maybe just under 29 inches.

I think it's more of an absorbancy thing than the size.

So when they had "Toddler" wing fold back in the 70's,

And the leg cuffed Large size in the 80's,

Does anyone know if they were about the same size or smaller?
