  1. With your issues it might be the cause. generaly i have only felt a couple drops but i do remember one time of sitting i had urgency bad and it did leak more. but i use the 16 very confortable good fit in and out and no irritation. its also important in that you dont want stuff going up the outside of the tube for uti. the 16 can do a 10cc as well. i just always used 5cc probably why i have no capcity left. thats like not much space
  2. i use 5cc in the ball, some may differ and i use silastic. if the bag is full and since i have no capcity i have on occasion felt a little wetness. i think it can push past it. however generaly no. i would say a 16 is right for men but if your getting leak go higher. i think i did try to use a regular silicone 14 just did not work well in any way. so size fit does matter. i also went to a 22 thinking id stretch it that just caused irritations and rubbing as it just put a strain on things.
  3. Well i do wear them and its either or. 24/7 but its hard to use the pool the hot tub, fall asleep in the wrong place. how many messes to do you want to clean up etc. i also dont like the feel of the urgency. with no and i mean no capcity you feel it all the time now. your body will still want to try to hold it but it cant so you go. thats every couple of minutes. which is great in a diaper standing working etc. but wet diapers get bigger fuller and cost more money. so for the most part i use the cath i like the feeling or the lack there of.
  4. i love wearing it. probably sounds awful but at 60 now it may be as well a good choice. yeah i get that urgency if i leave it out not a good feeling. i think the bigger diapers pinch it some. but im in it for good now. maybe someone younger might reverse it but for me it would be painful. they way you reverse it is to cap the cathater and it stores more. i have found however my urgency is so great say if i have my legs crossed it will leak passed it if need be. as i said the bag is now my bladder period.
  5. i guess the computer is up now will try again. sorry if this posts more than once it crashed. i think i started this maybe april of 18 by april of 19 i had no capacity. im not even going to hide it from the drs anymore. if i were to go to the hospital i would need it anyway. i take it out to clean or replace month or so. silastic lasts longer less risk of poping the ballon which i did with a silicon foley. it did pass the pieces out but dont do it. i use 5ml and when you take it out after a month you seem to get say 3ml of fluid out. so there is some decay with it. when i take it out i leave it out overnight or day. i cant go a foot with out peeing. i have no capacity at all. i dont believe its reversable easily. even sitting with my legs crossed at the desk pinches the line after a couple minutes it hurts. uncomfortable so i move my legs. i do wear the bag in the front of my panties which allows my trouser belt to hold it up, but it also keeps it from opening. i use 32 oz bags so its a lot of mess if it does. when i go to put the cath in anything inside will drain into the bag as it reaches the bladder. i measured that and its like 2 tablespoons. i can take it out go to the dr kit every restroom in the place and not drink fluids and pull it off. but im 60 screw it just going to be the way it is. i can say going to the diaper which the northshore supremes are heavy it makes it a little harder to go as now i want to go all the time like every step. so the urgency and need is there to make sure you go.
  6. im into it well over a year and i can tell you just when the bag gets full i start feeling the need. the body want it to pass through with the cath in not hold it. so for me its a totaly let go feeling. its like walking arround peeing all the time. if i put a diaper on i have to go every few feet or roll over in bed or what not. its just like there is nothing there no need no urgency no nothing its just nothing. i think my default is not set at let go. but as i said the silastic ones are the ones you want. silicone is to soft it can crimp off pop or break. silastic you cant pinch it off short of a clamp
  7. i dont know i know that my bladder is so small now that any amount in it is discomfort and i have to go. either dieaper or cath. i do know there are muscles involved mostly that control the closure not the expulsion. ie a person who paralised they dont have muscle control yet thier body still expells it. your organs produce it and it keeps comming as long as you intake fluid. so its going to come out. i like wearing it as thier is no feeling no tightness no urgency just it flows freely, could i retrain the bladder sure the longer it is out the more you can either hold it or choose to let it go. i dont plan to not ever where one again. that being said it can come out and i do have some measure of control when it is out.
  8. whatever the bladder is a storage device that holds about 600ml. the muscles arround it as does the production of urine push it out. if you have no space it will pass on through. like a full cup its a smaller cup so it will overflow. your body creates the flow not the bladder. the smaller the bladder the more the cup overflows. thats why men with prostate issues often use a collection method. the prostate increases shrinking the bladder so it cant hold more. the body does not stop producing it so it will push it out.
  9. cir your bladder is nothing but a bag. your body produces and expells on its own urine. thats why you get the urge to go it fills the bag. now it could be i wore it so long my bladder shrunk as well. i use to wear it in my panties laying between my legs pulled up a bit so the valve fell in my butt so i did not sit on it per say. you swivel on that it opens been there. but at any rate i find it does not matter. i used a clear tube and ran it behind me as well you could see it and bubbles pass through. i dont recomend that as it puts strain on the bag and then leaks. your body will expell it with no issues no effort. i know as i walk now i dont feel any need tighness urge anything. i guess thats what a todler would be just going all the time as he walks. kin stop trying. just let it be. put it in and forget and as your body adjusts you will just see it filling and you dont even know it. the silastic are also better in that it cant easily be pinched by your body. then it just becomes normal. like i said i have been wearing it for 18 months. i know at about a year when i updated this i had little to no control. this last time i had it out with a diaper it was constant going even as i walked as i could not tollerate any amount it had shrunk so much. for me its forever now i rather like it even. you really dont feel a thing and then off and on the bag fills up or your near a restroom and empty it. those big sodas at the movie no problem. thats another reason to wear it up. it holds it from falling down which would pull hard. at night i normaly take off the band and lay it loose. i wake up its normaly full. so no way i can go to bed and not wet it with out this.
  10. mine on the package say 5ml which does work fine. you dont want to fill it up till it pops or expands the bladder. the idea is to keep it in the bigger it is the more it irriatates the bladder or could. when i put 5ml in when you take it out in say 6 weeks its down to 3ml. so as the cath does age it does loose some fluid. you start feeling it about 4-6 weeks a little more like a tug as if it wants to come out sort of thing. thats when i change it or remove clean. remember it does not come out perfectly deflated so dont pull the water out so much it makes it flat. just let the syrnge pull water till you see it flatten then some back in. it will come out round that way not flat. i think the 10ml is what it can go up to safely.
  11. i am not sure siliconised is right. i use the ones called silastic by bard. 7 bucks from healthy kin. web link above. here are a couple pics of how i normaly wear it now in the day time. i use to lay it in my panties but found sitting on it at times could make it leak not often but found this to be better. i take the strap off at night and it lays in my panties. here i have an under panty on so you cant see anything.
  12. yes you need the right size. the point is bigger is not better. you also want to make sure you fill the balloon with exactly 5ml for the bulb. silastic are hard to pop however the silicone ones pop and if it does will leave a piece in you. it will pass out when you pee but not recomended. its one of the reasons i like the silastic its more perfect for the job and long term wear. they say up to 3 months but i make it 2 then you start feeling it. the ball is important its what seats it from comming out. to little it can pull into things its not suppose to be to big pop or stop your bladder from shrinking. i wear mine all the time i like it as i feel nothing in the body. i feel warm on the bag as it wear it on the belly. and fills from bottom. so you do feel it filling from time to time. watch as it gets full as it can cause a valve leak another reason i wear the valve at the top so the belt holds it up and i dont sit on it. done that it will turn and come out. yes i wear it in the shower and the hot tub which since its 110 out is now the pool. i will no longer likely hide it from drs im old enough it just is needed now anyway. im not going to tell them but sooner or latter they will find out. it also means if i go in the hospital or you do you will not be able to hold it so plan accordingly. they make a plug i use for the end of the cath. it holds it in your body the fluid. i use that when i go to the v a for a urine test. if you use it from the bag it will show contaminated tried that as the inside of the bag is never perfectly clean. i swap bags once a week unless i see or think there might be a leak.
  13. SEVERAL POSTS HERE, scif im 59 to be honest i love wearing the cath. read on as i get to other questions but done right its very comfortable. you dont feel it at all in fact you dont feel anything. no need to go no urgency no tightness. its like when your standing there and let it all go after not going for a while and everything is let go. kincad the irritation is when people try to force it. i use the silastic i find it hard enough you dont pinch it but soft enough as well. its sort of teflon coated so there is no irritation. men want to use a 16 thats the normal size for men. yes you can force something bigger in but thats where the irritation comes from. you also dont want to small you dont want anything to go back up the tube. its like a cork in a bottle if the hose inside is to small then stuff goes up it as well. 16 is just right and the normal for men. those that think they can stretch it are wrong i tried it and that is what you get pain. you have to remember your penis is meant to stretch and flex so your not going to stretch it by force and it stay that way. as i said and i posted the links above with the cath i love to wear it and i take it out about once a month or so and use a diaper. the urgency you feel when you take it out is often. the more the bladder shrinks the less it holds the more you have to go the less your body can hold it in. so for me its one or the other. since i take sleep meds there is no way i could go through the night without wetting the bed. i normaly wake up with the bag near full or full. not that wetting the bed is a problem but doing it every day is a mess to clean up. diapers leak can only hold so much etc. so i do find i like the cath and like it or not its now part of how i live. it is a real feeling of letting go i use it connected to a bag in the pool no one knows. i wear it drain end up of a large leg bag arround the waist so it feeds from the bottom. great when sitting or working its under my panties no one sees it. if i go get a couple big drinks for lunch it can fill it up a couple times before bed time. as it fills up it bulges so you know to empty it. you really dont feel a thing. thats whats so nice it really is letting go.
  14. I guess the term incontinent is a variable matter. from a medical standpoint i dont think stretching it will work and a larger cath wont do it. i have had larger ones in and all it does is expand it for a short period creates more irritation at the tip and along it and hurts more when you take it out. remember when you fill a balloon and deflate it then it is never the same small size again. so your not really stretching anything. muscles are use to expanding and contracting. with a cath in i tend not to bear down take it out for a while the body wants to try to hold it in hold the muscels tight. the differance being with no volumn to retain it makes you have to go. so the bladder shrunk from holding 32 oz to just the size of the cath ball is going to make you incontinient. your going to go no matter what which i have seen lattely. now does it trickle constantly i think it does to some degee as i tend to way way soak a diaper that holds like 40 oz in a matter of hours. but i also fell the urge if i lay or sit wrong to let it out almost immediatly. so the bladder shrunk to be of no holding capciaty makes you incontient not so much the muscles. stretching sensitive skin in the penile duct is going to cause damage infection disfunction and so on. thats where the 16-30 goes. the ball is till a 5fr ballon. i did start out to try that method and i did get the above issues so its best to use the 16 with 5fr for men is normal. the shrinks the bladder does not hurt anything and you still have control if you need it. i will say if i take it out to go to say the dr i dont drink anything as it can cause urgency if i do. with no volumn left its contstant need to go. like a little kid walking and wetting as he goes your back to that.
  15. the only end of a cathater to go in you is the baloon end and once its filled with sterile water it cant come out. the other end has a big end on it plus the inflation port so it cant go in you. the valve you cut out if pictures post here is a soft plastic fabric more or less.
  16. I cant translate it but since it says 2000ml those are bag beds used in the hospital. comes with a tube and hangs on the side of the bed. you want URINARY LEG BAG. not sure the translation but its one you wear those you do not. your welcome to order to post to me and i can ship. i just got an order i a couple days ago comes in like 2 days. its probably 40 to ship to you here i cant read it but if you look in the picture here on this link from your site. see in the clear window of the bag is a white square thats part of the input tube. thats an antirefulx valve or should be. https://www.saveexpress.de/en/inkontinenz-ableitend-deriving/urinbeutel-urinflaschen-amp-zubehoer/1502/b.braun-urin-bein-beutel-m-ablauf-500ml
  17. 1 never order in any urinary bag that does not say anti reflux. that means it has a valve where the urine cant go back up the tube no matter how you do it. THIER ARE SOME THAT DO NOT HAVE IT. take one of these bags and just cut it apart. where you plug the cath in is the valve. once you cut away the outside of the bag its just there on the inlet tube you cut the bag away from all of it will try to get a pic using phone of it and post it latter. i did have mine out for a day or so as i said above. someone asked why i still use the cath. with it in you really do let go no holding waiting need i do sort of like it that way. here is a link thttps://www.healthykin.com/p-4317-amsino-amsure-urinary-leg-bag.aspxo the bags i use.
  18. well as i said im pretty much incontinant after a year or so with a cath. that being said i guess its where you percieve it. with gi issues i take gerd meds and ulcer meds its an autoimmune disease. put food in stuff comes out. litteraly about as fast. you have enough time to get in the car drive to the house and go a few times. the meds control that. even with that urgency we all feel we have some control to hold it as long as we can. i took the cath out the other day was getting older and irritating. so i put a diaper on mid afternoon and a silcone diaper cover that sticks to your skin. this was an ab supreme. every foot or so i walked i needed to and felt myself going. if i laid down it might build a little then feel it or stand up feel more. it was full by midnight so i put a new on one. as i slept i did feel myself go a couple times not sure i might have moved to make sure i could but in the am the supreme diaper was so soaked it was leaking from the silicone diaper cover. i did drink a glass of water but i normaly fill 32 oz bag at night anyway. based on that there is no capacity left so all be it i do have some control the urge and need to go is almost immediate to putting fluid in. i will always need a diaper or cath now as there is no way i could sleep through the night and not wet the bed. is that incontinant yes is it uncontrolled probably not as i can still hold some for a short period which i guess is what a child is like. they can hold it just not much and not for long which is why they were the diaper. that is probably the clossest you can get to this without surgery or stent to keep it open all the time. that would problematic in the sense that its then an open port for anything into your system.
  19. no go the other way. it will fill up, from the bottom of to the top. thats why i said it has a back flow preventer. your body will expell it easier and easier. i would assume your not using a tube to extend it which would put strain on it. remember silicone caths can break easier or pop. its why i use the silastic they dont. i have grown to like it that way i also wear it loose in the panties. but it will fill up from any angle and as long as the bags you ordered have the back flow valve which most but not all do then it cant go back.
  20. i get the bag is not disconnected. but if its leaking into your diaper you change the diaper then the bag needs to be cleaned as well or changed. it will build up bacteria that can cause a skin infection. also remember if you go to any toilet put a paper towel down to make sure cath stays isolated. yes non stop but like now i put my feet on the desk crossed leg with in a couple min it hurts like okay move the legs let it flow. the longer its in the smaller the amount you retain. im sure some of thats permant. when i put my cath back in this time after 2 days i only got a couple teaspons out when i inserted it. i woke up with a totaly soaked diaper without trying. there is no way i can hold it now. that being said i could retrain by holding it longer and longer i would guess. maybe not as well. but the only part you need in your diaper unless you dont want to use the diaper is the one way flow reflux valve. that will flow into the diaper but not allow it back in. one way. it is a nice feeling of letting go no real need per say. i do think i produce a lot more now with it than i every did but i do have a kidney and other drs who say all is good. i dont wear this for an exam but if you go for a drug test to your dr you can use a clip to clamp the line and then undo it. dont use a bag to fill the cup it screws the test. like i said i consider mine permant. i wear it mostly in front so the cath falls in the panties and the drain is up top. cant sit on it that way or damage it etc.
  21. As i said the longer the cath is in the smaller your retention level is. when you take it out and it would take months at first you have to remember to relax. the longer the cath is in the more you learn to let go to relax. a standard silicone cath your using is soft and your muscles can close it off easier so its a little harder with that. the silastic caths you pretty much cant do it and they as well dont break off. dont put the bag in the diaper. take a bag cut the reflux valve out of it.the reflux valve is on the inside of the bag where it goes into the end of the foley. if you use the bag in the diaper then you risk bacteria on the bag and it getting on the skin if not cleaned all the time. any time you connect anything to the foley even if you just disconnect the valve or bag for a minute poor some alchol on the bag input port. it can in the bag etc. if you want to reuse bags or caths as long as they are not mishaped or worn out. use water with dish soap i use antibactiral dish soap and some bleach. empty bag use big syringe shoot into bag a reasonable amount and let soak bag in water. i keep the catch in about 2 months etc for some dr appts. i believe at least in what i see almost double the amount of release with a cath than i ever had before. i empty the 32oz bag 3 times a day. i would not make it through the night now without it or a diaper. converserly when you take it out for a long period of time your body will want to try to hold it in. with reduced bladder it will cause discomfort so you find your self going every couple of minutes in any position. the longer you hold it the more your bladder will increase in size.
  22. No uti here all be it i do keep bactrim on hand. on shot bactrim if you feel an infection thts a pill beats it back instantly. i use silastic cathaters they dont break and you cant pinch them off. if you use it in your diaper take a urinary bag cut off the bag so the valve is there its a one way thing and put it on the end. mine has not been in straight almost 2 months will need to change it soon. they do build up calcium on the end so you should take them out once a month or so to replace or clean. they are like 6 bucks each. i use water with soap and bleach let them soak. rinse then rinse in alchol before reuse. when it starts to feel a little irriation thats when the cathater ballon is starting to go bad.
  23. saw your update had not been on here in a while. I use a silastic cathater. i had a bilatteral removal 10 years ago so never did much but dribble after that. using a cathater it fills up all the time more than i could imagine. i use a 900 ml bag on my waist or in my panties. its been 18 months since i started. i use a diaper from time to time with it instead. if i cross my legs for more than a couple minutes or the bag is near full it hurts. i have no bladder volume left. i do have some control per say if i take it out for a short period. once its in it drains period so where you might have some left with a cath you dont. so if you take it out and go to the dr you can last a couple hours as long as you dont drink. i want to go to diapers and i know with my sleep meds i will wet the bed no doubt about it. will it wake me or what i cant say. problem is any diaper leaks and if i fall asleep in the wrong spot like the couch or even the bed is a mess to clean up. there are rubber satin sheets i want to order in but it just protects the bed. you still have to wash the sheets pillow comforter etc. so far not found a reliable diaper and cover that catches it all. but if you want to be incontinent that will do it to you.
  24. well as a follow up i started here and other places to see on this. why we choose i cant say i did as a child when i hit puberty and choose to again asi got older now 59. im a cd tg with a bilateral surgery so produce not testostrone as such i take minimal shots so im not that big. this will make you incontinenant about 6-8 months of full time wear. i have no doubt you can get it back as during this time i did remove it for dr visits at the va where it might be seen. over time that became more painful need to pee so a diaper was a must. i was able to pass that off as i have a gi issue at least at the time. this week i took the cath out a little irritation i will speak of latter. i was not able to go minutes without the greatest need to pee and it did it on its own sitting standing walking. last night without a diaper in my panties and nightgown while on the computer i found myself dribbling. satin panties are not very forgiving to a little dribble and got wet quick. i was able to see it sort of dribble out did not feel it. so with out a diaper i would now get wet and be foreced to wet the bed as well. i went with a diaper for a couple days and found i was wetting the diaper all day and night. i use a panty girdle to keep up a northshore supreme makeing sure i pee up you can feel it more as well. i mostly wear a cath with a urinary bag in the croch in my panties. i drain it a couple times a day. 1 use clean mostly sterile absorbant pads 2 use silastic with a small balloon 5cc no more than that in it. the idea is to shrink it so if you go bigger then you stretch it. silastic vs silicone as it is heavy wont break and wont colapse is reusable. 3 bleech and antiseptic soap for cleaning take it out once a week or you get crystaline structures on it which iritate you and then make you need to take it out for a couple days. 2 weeks max but is good for a month before a new one. you will see it degrade to a rough surfuce on the baloon over that month. 4 rinse everything with alchol then water, especialy the bag every time you disconnect it poor alchol in the portion that plugs in. thats where you can get an infection with it. 5 if you want to drian into a diaper then get a urniary bag take the valve cut it out and put it on the end so nothing goes back up the tube. how long will you be incontinant i cant say. i have mine back in after 2 days mostly going through diapers 3 times a day fully loaded without trying mind you. but i can say after 8 months without a strong and painful effort i cant go back without a cath or a diaper. that need to pee after the big super size soda at the movie and you have to run to the bathroom after the movie or find a rest stop on a road trip. the need is greater than that once it shrinks down . even a minor pinching of the hose now makes me feel it. just remember clean up every day can be a pain thats why i use the cath most of the time but i will start using the diapers more to feel it more. how you keep up a wet diaper well thats up to you to figure out. being a cd as well as back problems a body girdle or panty girdle helps a lot for that. not so much at night its tight. but a full supreme or even half a diaper sags. so think it through. im prone due to auto immune issues to bacteria so i always have bactrim on hand but have not had the need to use it. even with that i find it hard to get an infection. a tanning bed, or uv light which is a tanning bed kills bacteria on the surfuce and in the skin. thats why as a kid during the summer you had no acne sun and pool water. if you wear diapers a lot an occosianal tan of 5 minutes -8 minutes where you would not get a tan can kill most any bacteria on your skin or near the skin. that was per baylor. hope that helps
  25. well i started with a cath 8 months ago and am incontinent now. i cant go without the cath or a diaper. if i wear a cath with a urinary bag in my panties it starts to hurt if i say cross my legs. i have no capacity at all. i have started taking the cathater out using diapers more often. every few minutes i have to go not so much a dribble but i suspect that as well. any sort of need or movement triggers it. if your going to do it use a foley silastic cath they can stay in a month at a time. i do find myself wetting the bed now
