  1. When I was a child, I hated it with a passion! Especially that awful latex rubber sheet! When I got older, it was still embarrassing, and didn't help my lack of self-confidence at all. Nowadays, after years of dealing with it, I've found what works, and I am at peace with it. I don't volunteer this information right away, but I no longer hide in shame over it. I've discovered other have to deal with it, too.

  2. I did frequently when I was a child, but it has been an on-again off-again problem for me. Some mornings are better than others. I can go a week or two without a problem. Then, yucky! I simply put on cloth diapers and plastic pants and not worry about it anymore.

  3. I rent a room out of a large house. I need to launder my night things in a common area. I'm grateful we have a washer/dryer here! I time it when no one else is around. I try to be as discreet as possible. I don't show anything off, but I'm not hiding in shame, either. I don't know if anyone else knows as no one has mentioned anything. So far, it's been hassle-free. I try to respect others' boundaries, and politely make mine known.

I view it like wearing underneath my pants out in public for the first time. It feels awkward and embarrassing, until I have done it so often, with no reaction, I have made an emotional adjustment, which is the hardest part.

I have discovered that when I first move into a new place, find out the group conscience and go from there. It is a process of discovery, no doubt.

    Good luck!

  4. Hey,

I read your story. I want you to know that you are not alone. I grew up in a cold, non-affectionate home, and I never learned how to be intimate with anyone.

My only escape from stress was to lose myself in my imagination. I would fantasize about being a baby again, sleeping in a crib, wearing diapers.

Later on, I used alcohol, but eventually, that only made it worse. I'm clean now, thankfully.

When I was growing up, (late 50s/early60s), most guys had the John Wayne facade. Violence was accepted, even expected.

As an adult, I was diagnosed Depression (General) Anxiety (General). Now, I have learned to deal with it.

Persist! Live is always worth living. Don't feel that you 'must' do something. Do what you know is right.

    God bless,

    L

  5. Growing up in the 1950s/60s, I had an amber latex rubber sheet on my bed to keep it dry.

    Nowadays, I use a store-bought fitted waterproof/fabric sheet.

My cloth diapers and plastic pants do a good job.

However, I do have an old-fashioned rose-colored latex rubber pant in my drawers. It was free with a MyProtex purchase. I wore rubber pants as a baby.
