Ask how many of us were, when children, threatened wtih "diapers and plastic pants" as opposed to "[being put in your baby sisters's] diapers and rubber panties". "Rubber pant(ie)s" has been the default generic for 70 years

    In the late 1950's NyLint made an "Atomic Cannon Truck". A 2+ foot OD truck that had an 1\8+" spring loaded cannon on a battery-powered fireing mechanism and mounting that moved vertically and horizontally. The "Ammo" was 4 rocket-shaped red shells with black rubber heads. This thing could fire the shells across two average-size rooms. A friend and I restored it in 1978 or 9 to working condition but one of the rocet heads was missing and we coud not find it
